I ask for God's forgiveness, but keep doing the same thing over and over. What's the key to victory?

You’re not alone. The Apostle Paul once faced the same dilemma! In Romans 7 he said, “I know that nothing good dwells within me, that is, in my flesh....For I fail to practice the good deeds I desire to do, but the evil deeds that I do not desire to do are what I am [ever] doing” (verses 18-19). In verses 24-25, Paul asks (and answers) the same question you’ve been asking. “O unhappy man...that I am! Who will deliver me...? O thank God!—He will! through Jesus Christ, the Anointed One, our Lord!” Paul found his deliverance in Jesus and so will you!

Will God really deal with my enemies for me?

People speak against you for no reason, betray you, or try to keep you from success. Enemies are something each of us must deal with in this life, and they can try us in every possible way.

What are some ways I can de-stress?

The peace of God is His gift to us as His children. But stress seems to creep up at times when we feel overloaded with life’s demands. Stress is burden, overload, pressure and anxiety; and you were not created to lug that weight around with you every day. So, what’s the answer? Proverbs 3:5 (KJV) exposes the source of stress and gives us the answer to it: “Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.” Here are some of the ways you can trust in the Lord and de-stress your life:

How do I keep wrong thoughts from entering my mind?

Evil thoughts come from Satan. His strategy is to place them in your mind in the hope that you will act on them. If he can get you to speak or act on an evil thought, he has accomplished his mission in getting you to fulfill his will and not God’s Word. The bottom line is this: Satan wants to be your god (2 Corinthians 4:4). You may not always be able to keep a wrong thought from entering your mind. But you can certainly determine what you are going to do with it.

Recently I heard about someone who believed God would heal them but died. Will God heal me or not?

Yes! You can always count on God to heal you! He has given you His Word on it and He always keeps His Word. James 5:15 leaves no room for doubt. It says, “...the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him.” Why then do so many good Christians remain sick? Because, they somehow fail to receive God’s provision of healing.

Is listening to preaching as good as reading the Bible?

A lot of Christians have questioned whether or not it is OK to listen to recorded preaching messages and Bible teachings as a full, or partial, substitute for reading the Bible itself. There’s no denying that anointed teaching and preaching from trusted ministers has an important place in the lives of believers.

Is it contrary to the principles of faith to use doctors and medicine when you need healing?

It is God’s will to heal you. That’s the first and most important thing for you to understand. If your faith is strong and you can believe the Word without wavering (regardless of what circumstances or symptoms come against you), then you’ll be able to receive that healing by faith alone. But that kind of faith takes more than just hearing a few sermons about healing. It takes a deep personal revelation of God’s healing power. And, for the Christian who hasn’t yet developed that kind of faith, the doctor is his best friend.

Is there any spiritual significance to the world’s unsettling events?

Actually, what we are experiencing are the results of a principle that has been with us since Creation—the law of sowing and reaping: “Don’t be misled—you cannot mock the justice of God. You will always harvest what you plant. Those who live only to satisfy their own sinful nature will harvest decay and death from the seeds sown from that sinful nature. But those who live to please the Spirit will harvest everlasting life from the Spirit. So let’s not get tired of doing what is good. At just the right time we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don’t give up” (Galatians 6:7-9).

Does the New Testament replace the Old Testament scriptures?

New Testament scriptures complete—not contradict—Old Testament scriptures. As such, the Old Testament must be interpreted in light of the New. Here is a threefold law of Bible interpretation: 1.  Scripture must be interpreted in the light of other scripture. 2.  The Old Testament must be interpreted in light of the New Testament. We are under a better covenant; established upon better promises (Hebrews 8:6).

How should I pray over my meals?

1 Timothy 4:3-5 tells us that our food is made acceptable by the Word and prayer. So, when you bless your food at each meal, take the time to do more than a quick, “Bless this food.” This is your opportunity to pray protection over yourself—to bless it and sanctify it, and pray against anything that would cause illness, in Jesus’ Name. If you’re at a restaurant, you can include a prayer over the people who will be preparing your food—that they’ll handle it correctly with wisdom.

Should we always pray ‘If it be Thy will’?

Religious tradition teaches that we just can’t know what God is going to do from one situation to the next, so it’s a good idea to tack on “if it be Thy will” to every prayer, just in case. Many churches teach that we should pray this way because Jesus did, but He only prayed this way once: in Luke 22:42. In most instances, He prayed with boldness and certainty of receiving an answer. For example, when Jesus raised Lazarus from the dead, He didn’t pray, “Lord, if it be Thy will, bring Lazarus up.” No. He said, “Father, I thank You that You have heard Me” (John 11:41).

Is homosexuality wrong?

God’s blueprint for marriage and sex is found in Genesis 2:24, where you’ll find His design is for man and woman to be joined together with no other option suggested. Throughout the Bible, you’ll find God’s praise of marriage between a man and a woman and only strong rebuke for homosexuality. Leviticus 18:22 and 20:13 refer to homosexuality as “detestable” and an “abomination.” And in 1 Corinthians 6:9-11, we read that homosexuals, along with others who are unrighteous, will not inherit the kingdom of God. Romans 1:22-27 offers the most extensive reference against homosexuality:

Are there times when abortion is the right option?

When it comes to abortion, it is important to begin with what God has to say about the matter. We know from His Word that life begins in the womb. It is not a blob or a tissue—it is a human being; a person with a future, an anointing and a call from God with a purpose on this earth. God’s Word is clear—we are to choose life.

Why Is Israel Important?

In Zechariah 2:8-10, God refers to Israel as “the apple of His eye.” As we know, the apple of the eye is its center, and He refers to it as such for good reason! Israel is the only nation created by God, which means Israel belongs to God Himself.

How do I overcome a learning disorder?

First and foremost, remember that God is a good God, and He has made you an overcomer and more than a conqueror. That applies to anything and everything in your life! He has also given you the mind of Christ.  The world may have labeled you and you may notice certain things challenge you more than others, but you are called to live in victory every day in every way. Why is Satan sometimes called Lucifer?

Lucifer was Satan’s name before his fall from heaven. It literally means “morning star.” Ezekiel 28:13-15 gives us this picture of Lucifer before his rebellion against God:

Does God forgive sin we plan?

Everything with God comes down to the same thing—the heart. For example, you can tithe, but if you do it grudgingly, it doesn’t count in His eyes (2 Corinthians 9:7). You can prophesy or be a great preacher, but if you are harsh and unkind to others, it doesn’t count for anything (1 Corinthians 13:1-3).  So, when it comes to forgiveness, it’s the same thing. If you plan a sin with the idea that you can go to God and get forgiven and be in the clear, you’re missing it. Only a truly repentant heart receives forgiveness.
