When you were first saved, you probably did not know all the promises given to you in the Word, but you did know about the Name of Jesus. You got saved when you called on the Name of Jesus because “everyone who calls on the name of the LORD will be saved” (Romans 10:13).
The Word also says that “at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue declare that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father” (Philippians 2:10-11).
When you stood on that Name at the time of salvation, even though you didn’t know anything else, you could walk in the power of the Name. The Name of Jesus, the Holy Spirit and the Old Testament are actually all the early Church had for its first 10 years—and they did just fine.
Whatever you do, don’t stop using the Name. It’s good for more than getting saved—it’s good for everything you might come up against for the rest of your life. Take authority over what comes against you using God’s Word and the Name of Jesus.
- When you face sickness, use the Name of Jesus. In the Name of Jesus, I declare that based on 1 Peter 2:24, by the stripes of Jesus, I am healed! I receive my healing now.
- When you experience lack, use the Name of Jesus. In the Name of Jesus, I declare that as a tither and according to God’s riches in heaven, every need I have is met in Christ Jesus (Malachi 3:10-11; Philippians 4:19). I declare that I have more than enough for every need in my life!
- When you encounter fear, use the Name of Jesus. According to 2 Timothy 1:7, God has not given me a spirit of fear, therefore I declare that fear has no hold on me in Jesus’ Name. I am free from all fear!
- When you have anxiety and worry, use the Name of Jesus. I declare in the Name of Jesus according to Philippians 4:6-7 that I do not need to be anxious or worry about anything. I pray about everything in the Name of Jesus, and I declare that I have the peace that passes all understanding. It guards my heart and my mind in Christ Jesus.
- When you see your child, or another loved one who isn’t saved, wandering away from God, use the Name of Jesus. I declare in the Name of Jesus and based on God’s Word in Acts 16:31 that not only would I be saved, but also everyone in my household. I declare that ______________________ is saved and filled with the Holy Spirit in Jesus’ Name!
- When you discover unforgiveness in your heart, use the Name of Jesus. In Jesus’ Name and according to Ephesians 4:32, I declare that I am tenderhearted and forgiving. I forgive _____________________, Lord, just as You have forgiven me.
- When you need wisdom, use the Name of Jesus. According to James 1:5, God gives me wisdom. Therefore, I declare by faith and in the Name of Jesus that I am a wise person. I make wise decisions. I see the situations and circumstances in my life through the eyes and understanding of wisdom.
- When you identify powers and principalities in the heavenly realm and darkness of this world that are threatening any part of your life, use the Name of Jesus. According to Ephesians 6:12, I am not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places—and I have authority over them all in the mighty Name of Jesus. So, I declare in the Name of Jesus they have no power over me or anything pertaining to my life and family.
- When you have weather threatening the safety of your property, use the Name of Jesus. Just as Jesus spoke to the wind and the sea, I declare in the Name of Jesus that no weapon formed against me and my property shall prosper. Nothing shall harm me or my family in any way! (See Luke 8:23-26, 10:19; Isaiah 54:17.)
- When you are falsely accused, use the Name of Jesus. In the Name of Jesus, I declare that every word that rises up against me, You, Lord, shall condemn. You will silence every voice that unjustly accuses me (Isaiah 54:17).
When you come up against any other name, whatever it is, you can use the Name of Jesus to see victory in your life—cancer, diabetes, heart disease, debt, poverty—use the Name! The Name that is above all other names! The Name of Jesus!
