While the decision about how often to read your Bible lies with you, there are some important factors for you to consider. 

Scripture tells us not only when the disciples were born again, but also how. The answer may surprise you: They were born again the very same way you and I, or any other person is. We know the disciples walked and talked with Jesus on a daily basis. But like every Christian, each individual disciple had to accept that Jesus was raised from the dead and make Jesus his Lord (Romans 10:9-10). The Bible describes how and when this took place after Jesus’ resurrection:

When you’re praying for a loved one to come to know the Lord, keep in mind that Satan who has blinded their eyes and darkened their understanding. So, your goal is to get their eyes opened, and that is something the Word of God will do. Try to get them under the sound of the Word, and it will open their eyes. 

As Christians, we know Jesus has already defeated Satan for us (Colossians 2:15), but Satan is still going to use certain strategies to try to trick us into believing otherwise. His strategies are intended to keep us defeated and to take everything that is rightfully ours. We have a responsibility to stand our ground against the devil’s schemes. That is why God told us to “resist the devil” (James 4:7) and use “the weapons of our warfare” (2 Corinthians 10:4, KJV). It’s why He gave us “authority over all the power of the enemy” (Luke 10:19).

God does not want you poor and miserable. He wants you blessed. If you are born again, as a joint heir with Christ, all God’s resources belong to you. This isn’t just religion; it’s New Testament reality! When Jesus went to the cross, He totally defeated poverty on your behalf once and for all. As 2 Corinthians 8:9 says, “You know the generous grace of our Lord Jesus Christ. Though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, so that by his poverty he could make you rich.”

Webster defines gambling as “the payment of a price for the chance to win a prize.” The lottery does fit this definition. While the Bible does not explicitly list gambling as a sin, the greater question for a believer is whether something is pleasing to God. The Bible teaches clearly about the importance of good stewardship (Proverbs 21:20). Every dollar we have belongs to God and He is trusting us to manage it well. When we do, we reap a harvest. 

Religious tradition says that healing has passed away. They aren’t exactly sure when it happened, but they seem certain of its demise. When you start reading the Bible, however, it’s easy to see why tradition is mistaken. God said, “I am the LORD that healeth thee” (Exodus 15:26, KJV). He didn’t say, "I was the LORD who healed you," or, "I will be the LORD who heals you in heaven someday." He said, "I am your Healer—right now, today!" “I am the LORD, I change not” (Malachi 3:6, KJV).

It is amazing how many believers waste their energies arguing whether or not tithing is a New Testament doctrine. Tithing didn’t begin with the Law! According to Genesis 4:2-4, before the Law was ever given to Moses, Abel and Cain brought the firstfruits of their labor to God. Again in Genesis 14, we find that Abraham tithed—before the Law.

Generally speaking, Muslims believe that Jesus was a prophet, but not the Son of God. They do not believe He died and arose from the dead, or that His blood was shed for the forgiveness of sin as stated in Romans 10:9: “If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.” Nor do they accept the authority of the New Testament.

Many people see themselves as on a fixed income, such as receiving a regular check in the mail from Social Security or a pension. No matter how you receive your income, think of your income as your seed bin, out of which you give to others.

The word luck does not appear in the Bible. 

The Bible instructs us to “pray always with all prayer” (Ephesians 6:18, BRG). Other translations say, “all kinds of prayer” or “different kinds of prayer.” The AMPC says, “with all [manner of] prayer.”  There is more than just one kind of prayer, and depending on what you desire from God, you it’s helpful to understand the importance of each one. 

No matter what you’re facing in your marriage right now, know this—God wants to heal your marriage. It’s His will for you and for your spouse. If you can have faith in Him, you can see a dramatic turnaround in your relationship.

The world has a lot of people convinced that they cannot die without slipping into some sort of physical decline and enduring sickness or disease. But that isn’t God’s best! Here’s the truth: God didn’t put any expiration date on His healing promises, so you do not have to die sick. So, if you don’t die sick, how will you die? Gloria Copeland puts it simply, saying, “You’ll just leave. You’ll finish your course, and the Lord will just take your spirit up with Him.”

If your heart is longing to find that special someone to talk with, dream with and enjoy life with, you may be on the brink of discouragement. Maybe you’ve even fallen into the trap of praying, waiting, feeling lonely and discouraged, then repeating the process all over again. You may even be wondering…

It can be difficult to have a strong conviction about something as important as tithing, but it not be shared by your spouse. The enemy would like you to think you cannot have financial success because of your spouse’s objection to tithing. 

Second Corinthians 6:14 instructs us, “Don’t team up with those who are unbelievers. How can righteousness be a partner with wickedness? How can light live with darkness?” We cannot express strongly enough how important it is to marry someone with whom you can be in unity and agreement according to God’s Word. Marrying someone who has not made Jesus Lord and Savior will pose more challenges for you than you may be thinking of right now. 

Malachi 3:10 says, “Bring all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be food in My house, and try Me now in this,” says the LORD of hosts, “if I will not open for you the windows of heaven and pour out for you such blessing that there will not be room enough to receive it” (NKJV). This verse tells us a lot about tithing:

Hebrews 10:38 (KJV) says, “Now the just shall live by faith: but if any man draw back, my soul shall have no pleasure in him.” The Bible is clear that believers are to live by faith. Like many people, you may wonder where faith comes from. Some people may believe that faith comes from tragic experiences in life or it comes from some desperate hope not based in reality, but that’s not what the Bible says.

There is no perfect Bible translation, since man is involved in the translation from the original Greek, Hebrew and Aramaic manuscripts. So, no matter which translation you use, you must personally be satisfied with it.  Start by finding a translation of the Bible you can understand.
