10 Confessions To Freely Forgive

Every day you are faced with opportunities for offense—both little offenses and big offenses. How do you feel when someone cuts you off on the road? Or what do you do when someone at a restaurant gets your order wrong? What about if you lose your job or a friend betrays you? Opportunities for offense happen every single day.
What’s the big deal about offense? Offense is an open door to the enemy. 2 Corinthians 2:10-11 says, “When you forgive this man, I forgive him, too. And when I forgive whatever needs to be forgiven, I do so with Christ’s authority for your benefit, so that Satan will not outsmart us. For we are familiar with his evil schemes.” You can close the door to the enemy in your life by turning to God and forgiving others.
Jesus forgave you and you can forgive others by declaring these 10 Confessions To Freely Forgive and walk in the love God has put in your heart.
1. I am free to be forgiven and to forgive, because I have humbled myself, prayed, sought the face of God, and turned from my wicked ways, in Jesus’ Name.
“Then if my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sins and restore their land!” (2 Chronicles 7:14).
2. In Jesus’ Name, I have found joy because my disobedience is forgiven and my sin is gone from the sight of God.
“Oh, what joy for those whose disobedience is forgiven, whose sin is put out of sight!” (Psalm 32:1).
3. I am blessed because God is so good to me. He is always ready to forgive me and is full of unfailing love for all, including me, who ask. Because He forgives me, I can forgive others.
“O Lord, you are so good, so ready to forgive, so full of unfailing love for all who ask for your help” (Psalm 86:5).
4. God’s love in me does not insist on its own rights or its own way. I am not self-seeking. I am not touchy, fretful or resentful. I take no account of the evil done to me and I pay no attention to a suffered wrong.
“Love (God’s love in us) does not insist on its own rights or its own way, for it is not self-seeking; it is not touchy or fretful or resentful; it takes no account of the evil done to it [it pays no attention to a suffered wrong]” (1 Corinthians 13:5, AMPC).
5. Through God’s grace, I have all I need and my sins are forgiven as I forgive others.
“Give us today the food we need, and forgive us our sins, as we have forgiven those who sin against us” (Matthew 6:11-12).

6. Jesus’ blood confirms that I am part of God’s covenant and my sins are totally forgiven by His sacrifice. I choose to forgive others as God has forgiven me.
“For this is my blood, which confirms the covenant between God and his people. It is poured out as a sacrifice to forgive the sins of many” (Matthew 26:28).
7. I am thankful that I can forgive others and my Father in heaven forgives me!
“But when you are praying, first forgive anyone you are holding a grudge against, so that your Father in heaven will forgive your sins, too” (Mark 11:25).
8. God has forgiven me, and I have a place reserved among God’s people, in Jesus’ Name.
“To open their eyes, so they may turn from darkness to light and from the power of Satan to God. Then they will receive forgiveness for their sins and be given a place among God’s people, who are set apart by faith in me’” (Acts 26:18).
9. I gladly make allowances for the faults of others because I know the Lord forgives me. I forgive anyone who offends me.
“Make allowance for each other’s faults, and forgive anyone who offends you. Remember, the Lord forgave you, so you must forgive others” (Colossians 3:13).
10. Thank God because not only are my sins forgiven, but I am also cleansed from all that does not please God!
“But if we confess our sins to him, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all wickedness” (1 John 1:9).
