God is talking to you, but are you hearing from Him?
He is speaking all the time. Yet, it's up to believers to spend time with the Lord, read His Word and hear from Him. Why? He has some things to share with you that will change your life.
If you haven’t been hearing from God, it’s time to figure out why. There are several practical ways to understand what is blocking you from recognizing the voice of God. From the prayers you pray to the verses you read, have faith that when you turn up the volume on God’s voice, you also increase your ability to hear Him.
It is time to renew your mind and believe the Lord wants to talk to you every day. If we entertain too many different influences, thoughts and opinions, it can lead to confusion. In the midst of it all, you may feel uncertain that you’re hearing the one voice you long to hear most—the voice of God.
He talks to His children every day. By faith, we can listen to God and learn to hear His voice. We don’t have to go through life blindly making decisions or relying on our own abilities. We can listen to God clearly and consistently, and receive the power that comes with hearing from Him.
Pray About Hearing From God
Before reading and making note of these powerful scriptures, prepare your heart and welcome the Holy Spirit. Hearing from God takes an open heart and a ready spirit, so begin with a prayer for hearing God's voice, praying in faith.
Lord, Your Word says that when we draw near to You, You will draw near to us. So, I draw near to You today. I seek Your face, Your truth and Your word for my life. I want to know You more, hear You more and obey You more.
Your Word says Your sheep know Your voice and we will not follow the voice of a stranger. Help me to understand Your voice and not be deceived by any other voice. Guard my heart from the influences of this world and the people around me. Help me not to be fooled by the devil and his lies, but to view all thoughts and decisions through the lens of truth.
As I seek to hear You today for instruction, correction and guidance, help me to confirm Your voice through Your Word. You said if I ask for wisdom, You will give it to me liberally. So, I am asking for wisdom in the Name of Jesus to hear You clearly and consistently today and every day.
Help me to be confident in knowing that I hear Your voice. I praise You and thank You for it, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
