In 2004, 8-year-old Gabby Douglas began her quest for the Olympics when she enrolled at a gymnastics training facility in Virginia. Eight years later, as a member of the U.S. gymnastics team competing in the 2012 Olympics, Gabby made history winning two gold medals, and became an overnight global superstar. Now, she’s inspiring other young people to follow their dreams.

But it was worth it all, when Gabby Douglas made history as the first African American to win multiple gold medals in gymnastics.
