How To Take God's Medicine For Your Healing

When you experience a symptom or issue in any part of your body and you decide to check in with your doctor or run by the neighborhood clinic, you can usually count on being diagnosed, treated and on the road to recovery fairly quickly. Of course, there may be prescriptions, a treatment plan and follow-up involved, but if you take your medicine and follow the doctor’s orders, you typically expect to get better.

God may lead you to go to a doctor, and many doctors are anointed by God to do their job to facilitate health and healing in your body. In addition to following the leading of the Lord to a physical doctor, what if you turned to God’s Word just as you would to the medicine prescribed by your health care provider? When Solomon, in all his wisdom, wrote Proverbs, he said that God’s Words “bring life to those who find them, and healing to their whole body,” or as another translation says, they are medicine to all their flesh (Proverbs 4:22, Jubilee Bible). That includes every body part!

God’s Word is life-giving—as it was at Creation when He spoke all things into existence (Genesis 1)—and it is also life-sustaining. God’s Word can heal you of all sickness, disease, injury and harm that might come against you. Even better, you don’t have to wait for symptoms or injuries to happen—you can take God’s Word as a preventative too! You can take God’s medicine for healing of every body part by reading, meditating and speaking the following scriptures:

  1. Healing for your eyes: “Moses was 120 years old when he died, yet his eyesight was clear, and he was as strong as ever” (Deuteronomy 34:7).
  2. Healing for your ears: “Ears to hear and eyes to see—both are gifts from the LORD” (Proverbs 20:12).
  3. Healing for your lungs: “God, the LORD, created the heavens and stretched them out. He created the earth and everything in it. He gives breath to everyone, life to everyone who walks the earth” (Isaiah 42:5).
  4. Healing for your back: “A woman…. was unable to stand up straight. When Jesus saw her, he called her over and said, ‘Dear woman, you are healed of your sickness!’ Then he touched her, and instantly she could stand straight” (Luke 13:11-13).
  5. Healing for your hands: “Behold, you have instructed many, and you have strengthened the weak hands” (Job 4:3, AMPC).
  6. Healing for your skin: “For they [God’s Words] are life to those who find them, and health to all their flesh” (Proverbs 4:22, NKJV).
  7. Healing for your heart: “He heals the brokenhearted and bandages their wounds” (Psalm 147:3).
  8. Healing for your knees: “Your words have upheld him who was stumbling, and you have strengthened the feeble knees” (Job 4:4, NKJV).
  9. Healing for your legs: “And I will strengthen [Israel] in the Lord, and they shall walk up and down and glory in His name, says the Lord” (Zechariah 10:12, AMPC).
  10. Healing for your reproductive system: “He will love you and bless you, and he will give you many children. He will give fertility to your land and your animals…. None of your men or women will be childless, and all your livestock will bear young” (Deuteronomy 7:13-14).

Watch Kenneth and Gloria Copeland tell us 101 things God says about healing here:

What if you have an illness that isn’t mentioned above? God has provided for you too! Deuteronomy 28 lists many sicknesses and diseases and calls them curses; you may find your particular ailment listed in Deuteronomy 28. If you can’t find the specific illness you are experiencing, you can read verse 61, which says, “every sickness and plague there is, even those not mentioned in this Book of Instruction.” That includes every sickness and disease that exists! Then Galatians 3:13 says, “Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us (for it is written, ‘Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree’)” (NKJV). Because of Jesus, you have been redeemed from every sickness and disease!

Today can be your receiving day, the day you receive Jesus as your primary health care provider, the day you learn How To Take God’s Medicine for Healing and turn your health and well-being around!
