3 Ways To Apply the Covenant of Tithing in Your Life

Tithing is more than dropping 10% of your income into an offering bucket—it’s a Covenant connection with God. When you apply the covenant of tithing, you are putting Him first in your finances and inviting His BLESSING and protection into your life. But to walk in the benefits of this covenant, you must apply it intentionally.

Here are three practical ways to apply the covenant of tithing in your life.

1. Tithe in Faith, Not Out of Obligation

“But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.” – Hebrews 11:6 (NKJV)

Tithing is not about religious duty—it’s about faith. When you apply the covenant of tithing, you are declaring, “God, You are my Source.” Don’t tithe out of fear, guilt or tradition. Instead, tithe in faith, expecting God to do exactly what He promised in Malachi 3:10-11: open the windows of heaven and rebuke the devourer on your behalf.

Application: Each time you bring your tithe, pause to thank God that He is your Provider. Release your tithe in faith, not as a bill you’re paying, but as a seed you’re sowing into His covenant economy.

2. Speak the Word Over Your Tithe

Your words have power, and they work hand in hand with your tithe. Speaking God’s promises seals the covenant over your giving and keeps you anchored in faith when circumstances try to shake you.

Application: After you tithe, apply the covenant of tithing by declaring scriptures like Malachi 3:10-12 and Proverbs 3:9-10. Confess out loud: “The windows of heaven are open over me, the devourer is rebuked, and I walk in the overflow.”

3. Expect THE BLESSING To Show Up in Your Life

“The blessing of the LORD makes one rich, and He adds no sorrow with it.” – Proverbs 10:22 (NKJV)

Tithing is not a one-time transaction; it is a lifestyle of Covenant partnership with God. That means you can expect to see His BLESSING in your life…not just in finances, but in protection, favor, opportunities and peace.

Application: Keep your eyes open for God’s hand at work in your life. Every time He provides, protects or promotes you, acknowledge Him with thanksgiving. The more you recognize His BLESSING, the more it will multiply.
