Just as the Shunamite woman in 2 Kings 4 spoke only her faith in the midst of a dire situation, we need to do the same. In the midst of even tragic situations, words of faith will turn everything around. “All is well,” should be our declaration. In the natural, everything looks the opposite of well, but by faith I declare: “I’m not moved by what I see, I’m not moved by what I feel. I’m moved only by what I believe. The Bible says it. I believe it, and that settles it!” 

When you were born again, you received power—ability, efficiency and might—from God to be witnesses for Jesus on the earth. God so dearly loved and prized you and your family, He sent this same Jesus so you could become His dear children, walk in His love and be filled with His Spirit. And it’s this same Jesus who not only took all your sins, but also healed your body, so you could live in righteousness and victory all the days of your life! 

The Jesus whose birth we celebrate at Christmas was prophesied millennia before His arrival in Bethlehem of Judea. Those spoken words took on flesh, and the “Sun of Righteousness” came with healing in His wings and the authority of heaven in His voice to still storms, heal the sick and raise the dead. He brought the good news of freedom in a New Blood Covenant that would last for eternity. We celebrate not just His birth but His life! 

The story of the Cross is that for our sakes the Father made Jesus who knew no sin to be sin for us so that we could be made His righteousness. We are changed and given hearts of compassion to love others as He did. As we stay strong in the Lord and in the power of His might, wearing His full armor to live this faith life in victory, we must love others enough to share boldly with them the mystery of the good news of the gospel! 

The moment you were born again, two wonderful things happened to you: The love of God entered your heart, and you received THE measure of faith. So, what are you to do with that faith? Strengthen it by renewing your mind with the powerful, transforming Word of God and speak it out loud so you’ll begin to think, act and live victoriously like the new creature in Christ Jesus you were re-created to be! 

Real Bible hope is powerful and completely different from natural hope, which is little more than wishing. Bible hope is confident expectation. Abraham hoped in faith for the promised son. George Washington hoped in faith for a free nation. We too can hope in faith because our hope is firmly and unshakably anchored on God’s unchanging promises. The American flag still flies today because of the power of real Bible hope—confident expectation!  

The woman with the issue of blood did four things that changed her life forever. She didn’t just pray for her miracle and hope it happened. She heard about Jesus and acted on what she heard. She made up her mind to “get where the garment was.” Specific steps that activated her miracle are yours to follow to receive your miracle. Whatever you’re facing this month, or for the rest of the year and beyond, the sinless blood of the resurrected Jesus, our great High Priest, on the mercy seat of heaven, established the New Covenant of God’s strength in you. His shed blood of the New Covenant guarantees victory in every area of your life—spirit, soul and body, financially and socially. So rejoice and be glad because when you are weak in human strength, you are truly strong in Him!
