God’s Way Is the Best Way

by A.D. , Australia

Recently, my neck and back had become so sore and stiff that it was making everyday chores like getting dressed, doing my hair or sitting at my desk for work really uncomfortable—and sleeping at night was just as challenging. In hindsight, this was the same period of time that I'd been really dissatisfied with my role at work. I'd been believing God for over a year that He would show me where “my place” was (whether that was my current role/job, or a new one). But events at work had taken such a turn that I had taken my eyes off God and was trying to prove myself in my own strength—and it wasn't working. I had also started openly being critical of my boss, something I know is wrong, but because I'd taken my eyes off God I told myself that under the circumstances it was justified.
One morning I was in so much pain that I got in the car with a heat pack for my shoulders and just went driving. I started listening to the SWBC session from Wednesday 10 a.m. where Kenneth Copeland was preaching from Galatians 5. God used this word to grab my attention and direct me back to meditate on Galatians 5:1 where I saw that I am to stand fast in the liberty wherewith Christ has made me free, and that even the Word says "...be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage...." And my recent actions constituted “my choice” to go back to that bondage by my behavior which contradicted Matthew 6:33-34 and Matthew 7:1-2.
God then directed me to 1 Peter 2:1, 10-25 and when I asked God's forgiveness for my behavior that had been so contrary to the Word of God, and received my forgiveness by faith, ALL THE PAIN LEFT my shoulders and my back. Glory to God, I am healed! Although I know that in the natural I can't see any way out of my work situation at the moment, it's not up to me to find that way. My “calling” as an heir of God is to seek first His way of doing and being right and He will order my steps.
