How do I cultivate the faith of God that is within me?

As a born-again believer, you have residing within your spirit the faith of God. You have the life and nature of God. Faith is a fruit of the reborn human spirit (Galatians 5:22). Your faith has the potential to produce the same results that Jesus produced in His earthly ministry (John 14:12).

How can I overcome sin?

Sin that has become a habit can feel like an impossible mountain to climb. But here’s what you need to remember—when you were born again, you instantly became an overcomer (1 John 5). You are an overcomer. That’s who you are. That’s what you are. The devil would give anything he’s got to keep you from finding that out. Jesus already overcame him for you and gave you the authority to knock him down anywhere, anytime. All you have to do is pull the sword of the Spirit on him.

How do I deal with the effects of military PTSD in a marriage relationship?

This ministry loves our military and veterans! We have a heart to see them prosper in every area of their lives, and so does God! We also understand the struggles that come with PTSD. Gloria Copeland’s father, a WWII veteran, struggled with PTSD and alcohol as a result. The world believes people who have faced trauma and struggle with PTSD are doomed to do so for life. But Jesus doesn’t agree. He came to give every believer life more abundantly. He came to set people free from every form of torment and bondage. He is the Healer. He is the Deliverer!

How do I saturate myself with the Word?

Total immersion requires an investment of time. If you’re looking for a big renewing of your mind, our suggestion is 30 days. You don’t necessarily need to take time off work (although that would be great), but you’ll need to adjust your schedule to make your focus the Word of God. For example, if you usually go to lunch with friends during the workday, spend that time, instead, listening to or reading the Word of God. Carve out as much time as possible, and spend as many hours each day as you can in total immersion.

Should Christians celebrate traditional holidays that have been commercialized?

For many years, holidays have been celebrated by the world and Christians alike. We know that God is actually the One who instituted the concept of holidays because He instructed Israel to have feasts and celebrations in the Old Testament. As Christians, it is beneficial for us to take the time to celebrate and appreciate all the good things God has done for us.

Is the United States a Christian nation?

As we celebrate America’s independence today, many may ask this question. Contrary to the arguments, a Christian nation is not one in which all citizens are Christians, nor do the laws require everyone to adhere to Christian theology. Rather, America is a Christian nation because Christianity shaped and made her what she is today.  According to historian David Barton, Biblical Christian principles are responsible for the following:

If God is love, why are we told to fear Him?

To fear God is not to be afraid of Him. In fact, 1 John 4:18 says, “Perfect love casts out fear” (NKJV). The Bible tells us hundreds of times to “fear not” because fear and terror come from the devil and cause torment (1 John 4:18). But the Hebrew translation for the word fear in reference to God means “to respect or reverence,” which is a very positive thing.  Consider the following verses about the benefits of “fearing” the Lord.

What does it mean to honor your parents?

“Honor your father and your mother, so that you may live long in the land the LORD your God is giving you.” –Exodus 20:12 (NIV) The command to honor your parents may seem easy to some, while much more challenging for others who were raised in negative or abusive environments. Are all parents deserving of honor? No. Does God still command it? Yes.  How can you honor someone who has been cruel or who is no longer in relationship with you? You honor your parents in your heart.

Should a church or ministry tithe?

Many churches and ministries honor God by tithing from the money they receive. And there is scriptural precedent for this. In Numbers 18:26-32, the Levites were instructed to take a tenth of the offerings given to them and return it as an offering to the Lord. In addition to that, they were to give freewill offerings from the tithes given to them. There is an exciting benefit from tithing as a ministry. The church or ministry that tithes reaps the same blessings as do individual tithers!

Why are we made imperfect?

The truth is, God did not make angels and man imperfect. God created them to have a choice. And that is where the opportunity to choose against God entered in.

What must I do to be saved?

What is a "first fruit"?

Proverbs 3:9 says, “Honor the LORD with your possessions, and with the first fruits of all your increase” (NKJV). The dictionary defines first fruits as “the first agricultural produce of a season, especially when given as an offering to God.” (See also Genesis 28:22; Leviticus 27:32; Hebrews 7:2, 4).

Why do some people die young?

Psalm 91:16 says, “With long life will I satisfy him, and show him My salvation” (NKJV). The Bible has a lot to say about God’s will concerning our life here on the earth—how we are to live and for how long. God has a good, long life planned for us. But without that revelation, we can’t expect to live out the full number of our days. It takes faith to receive the promises of God! There are a number of reasons people die young. To live long on the earth, it is important to do the following:

Why does the Bible tell us to judge ourselves?

The Biblical instruction to judge ourselves was given in 1 Corinthians 11:31: “For if we would judge ourselves, we would not be judged.” This scripture was given as an important part of understanding how God disciplines His children. If we don’t understand the truth about God’s discipline, we may give Him credit for bad things that happen in our lives.

How can I get free from depression?

Let’s establish something from the beginning—as a Christian, you have the right and authority to be free from depression. God has given you His armor, and you can use it to stand against the strategies of the enemy (Ephesians 6:10-18). If you put on God’s armor and pray, Satan has no chance!

How did God create man?

The Creation account in Genesis is probably one of the most intriguing subjects in the Bible. The fact that God created the earth as we know it in six days is truly awesome. While we might not fully grasp with our natural minds what exactly occurred in this time period, we can understand the basic chain of events as we examine the first two chapters of Genesis.

I’ve heard God can be jealous. Isn't that a negative attribute?

In Exodus 34:14 we read, “You must worship no other gods, for the Lord, whose very name is Jealous, is a God who is jealous about his relationship with you.” That’s pretty plain. The Bible boldly not only declares that God is jealous, but also that one of His names is Jealous!

How can I honor a boss or employer who is abusive or disrespectful?

In 1 Peter 2:18, God commands us to give due respect and honor to our masters—or our employers. In 1 Timothy 6:1, we see this again, “All who are under the yoke as slaves are to regard their own masters as worthy of all honor so that the name of God and our doctrine will not be spoken against” (NASB). That is the purpose of honor—to stand out as God’s children among those in the world. There are plenty of people who show dishonor to employers, but we shine His light when we honor and submit to those in authority over us.

Can I pray for my elderly loved one to pass away peacefully?

If your loved one has determined that it is time to go home to be with Jesus after a long and fulfilled life, then you can pray in agreement. However, if he or she wants to live longer, then it is not right for you to pray for the passing because it is not scriptural to pray for someone to die before they are ready. Remember, death was never part of God’s original plan for mankind, and He has never stolen any man’s life. Jesus came that we might have life and have it more abundantly (John 10:10). When God created man, He created him a free moral agent.

How did things change between the Old and New Testaments?

One of the biggest changes between the Old and New Covenants is how sin was handled. In the Old Covenant, God established the priesthood to provide a way for the Israelites to cover or atone for sin—the breaking of the law. The high priest offered a blood sacrifice each year in the Holy of Holies to cover the sins of the people. When the high priest failed, the people had no approach to God. In contrast, the blood of Jesus did not just cover over our sins; it eradicated our sins.
