Am I too old to be useful in ministry?

You are never too old to be useful in ministry. Remember, your desire to minister comes from God, and He isn’t depending on your resources to complete the task. He will give you the power and the opportunities to fulfill that desire—regardless of your age. Philippians 2:13 says, “For it is God Who is all the while effectually at work in you (energizing and creating in you the power and desire), both to will and to work for His good pleasure and satisfaction and delight.”

What does it mean to fear God?

God does not desire that any believer be filled with fear—even when it comes to meeting Him:“God is love, and all who live in love live in God, and God lives in them. And as we live in God, our love grows more perfect. So we will not be afraid on the day of judgment, but we can face him with confidence because we live like Jesus here in this world. Such love has no fear, because perfect love expels all fear. If we are afraid, it is for fear of punishment, and this shows that we have not fully experienced his perfect love” (1 John 4:16-18).

Where did Cain get his wife?

Though the Bible does not answer this directly, it does tell us enough to draw an informed conclusion. Adam and Eve were the first and only people on the earth right after the six days’ work of Creation. They were commanded to be fruitful and multiply and replenish the earth (Genesis 1:26-28). They had not only Cain, Abel and Seth but numerous sons and daughters (Genesis 4:1, 5:4, 6:1) over a lengthy lifespan (Genesis 5:5).

Why did God make us so we could sin?

When God made us, He gave us the ability to choose. It was an act of mercy and love. God’s desire was for pure love to exist between Himself and His creation. God did not want to create robots that could only do what they were programmed to do, nor did He want to make slaves out of any creature. God gave man a will as part of His goodness, knowing the potential for love and sin is there.

Can a divorced person still minister?

Divorce is not God’s best, but it is also not the end of a victorious Christian life. What causes many churches to restrict ministry by a divorced person is the Apostle Paul’s instruction to Timothy regarding selection of bishops, or elders, of the church: “So an elder must be a man whose life is above reproach. He must be faithful to his wife” (1 Timothy 3:2). They use this as a governing rule for their leaders in saying they cannot be in the ministry after they are divorced and remarried.

Should babies be baptized?

At Eagle Mountain International Church, the church at Kenneth Copeland Ministries, our common practice is to hold baby dedication services where parents and guardians pledge to raise their children in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.

Did Jesus go to hell?

After the crucifixion, Jesus’ body was placed in a tomb, and His Spirit went to hell. There Jesus suffered all the torments of hell that we would have suffered. Jesus’ submission to death was complete. He experienced it to the ultimate degree so mankind would never have to be punished (2 Corinthians 5:21).

Will my pet be in heaven?

The Bible does not say what happens to animals when they die. What we do know is animals have a special place not only in man’s past and present, but also in his future. God cares for them and not one dies without His noticing (Matthew 6:26, 10:29). God created animals and saw that they were good (Genesis 1:20-25), brought them to Adam to see what he would call them (Genesis 2:19-20), and assigned man the responsibility of taking care of them (Genesis 1:28).

How does the Holy Spirit help me?

The Holy Spirit was sent to teach you all things and to lead and guide you into all truth (John 14:26, 16:12-15). In John 14:16-17, Jesus said: “And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Advocate, who will never leave you. He is the Holy Spirit, who leads into all truth. The world cannot receive him, because it isn’t looking for him and doesn’t recognize him. But you know him, because he lives with you now and later will be in you.”Comforter means "Counselor, Helper, Intercessor, Advocate, Strengthener, Standby."

How do I pray for someone who has brought trouble upon themselves?

You can pray the prayer of intercession. Briefly defined, intercession is prayer made in behalf of another person or persons who have brought judgment upon themselves for wrongdoing. The Scriptures teach us that sin provokes God, and because of His just and righteous nature, sin calls for judgment (James 1:15; Romans 6:23). But God has no pleasure in judgment; instead He delights in mercy (Micah 7:18).

Why is capital punishment allowed?

Romans 13:1-5 states that those in civil authority are ministers of God for our good. For those who observe and obey the authorities and the law, the law will work to their benefit. But judgment awaits whoever rebels against the law and resists that authority. Disobedience to the law permits those in authority to have the right to execute judgment.

Do I need to tithe on loaned money?

Generally speaking, we tithe on our income. Loaned money from a bank or lending institution is not income, but debt that must be paid back with interest. Therefore, loans are not sources of income, but sources of expense that would not require a tithe.

What happens to a child when they die?

God is love. The answer to where babies spend eternity when they die is not hard when you consider the nature of God. His love in relation to the innocence of young children is expressed in Deuteronomy 1:39, “Moreover, your little ones whom you said would become a prey, and your children who at this time cannot discern between good and evil, they shall enter Canaan, and to them I will give it and they shall possess it.” It is plain to see that God did not hold children responsible until they were old enough to recognize the difference between good and evil.

Can I put a Christmas tree up in my home?

You as a believer must answer this for your own home observing the instruction of Colossians 3:17, “Whatever you do or say, do it as a representative of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks through him to God the Father.” No matter what day you are observing, it should be to the honor and glory of God the Father.

Does the New Testament teach more than one baptism?

There are multiple baptisms recorded in the New Testament. There is the baptism into the Body of Christ (1 Corinthians 12:13), baptism in water (Acts 1:5, 10:44-48, 19:2-6) and Baptism in the Holy Spirit (Acts 2:4).

Must I attend my spouse’s church?

Unity is vital to marriage, whether deciding on church attendance or any other important issue. God loves you and your spouse deeply, and His main desire is that you walk in unity with one another. Sometimes it may seem difficult to gain common ground on certain issues, but by the power of God you can both walk in unity if you will put your trust in Him.

Has God pre-chosen who can be a Christian?

There has been much discussion about whether salvation is available to all mankind, or if it is only reserved for a special group of elect people whom God has already chosen to be born again. (This is commonly referred to as “predestination.”) But the simple answer is found in Acts 2:21: “Everyone who calls on the name of the LORD will be saved.”

Is it necessary to speak in tongues to be raptured?

No. Only one requirement is made in order to go with Christ in the Rapture, and that is to believe on Him. You meet that requirement at salvation when you say with your mouth Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead (Romans 10:9-10). Ephesians 1:13 says that at salvation you are sealed with the Holy Spirit.
