Question of the Day

When Kenneth and Gloria started their journey of faith they had questions too—lots of them! So, we've compiled the most frequently asked questions by people like you—people who earnestly desire to find God's answers to the practical, real-life challenges of everyday living. Parents often feel a great deal of pressure to ensure their children achieve good grades in school. It is understandable to want to see your children succeed in life! God wants that, too. His desire is that they be the head, and not the tail, in all things. The opportunity to achieve an education is a great one, but as you pray for your children, do so in faith, not out of a pressure to achieve a certain GPA. Encourage your children to do their very best, but understand it may not always translate into all A’s. Above all, remember good character and a heart for the Lord are of the utmost importance to God.

The following is a suggestion for a prayer to pray over your children in their education:

Father, in the Name of Jesus, I thank You for my children and for the blessing of being charged with raising them according to Your Word and for Your glory.

I lift up my children’s education to You, Lord, and as my children go to school, I thank You that You have made them the head and not the tail, above only and not beneath. I thank You now, Lord, that my children have favor at school with their teachers and their classmates; and ask that You will give them a desire to learn and a supernatural ability to grasp concepts taught in each subject.

I come against any learning disabilities right now in the Name of Jesus. I call every attempt against their success null and void right now in Jesus’ Name. No weapon formed against their success in school will prosper. My children are taught of the Lord! And they have the mind of Christ, glory to God.

God, You are the source of all knowledge, and I ask now that my children will have wisdom and understanding in all things. Thank You for giving them an appreciation of the educational opportunities before them. I ask that they have integrity, diligence and a spirit of excellence in all things, that they might bear much fruit. And I pray that they will not be led astray by the philosophies of men, but that their minds will be stayed on You.

Father, I ask that You impart to me the wisdom to know how to encourage them to do their best, support them at home, and become their greatest cheerleader in life. I ask that I have the wisdom to know the right school setting for each of my children, and I will be quick to respond to Your still, small voice regarding my children every day.
In Jesus’ Name. Amen.
