Q: Did Jesus need the Holy Spirit?

A:

Nothing Jesus did in His earthly ministry was done by His own power. Everything was accomplished by the anointing of the Holy Spirit that was on Him. Jesus said, “The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, because He has anointed Me” (Luke 4:18).

This is a very important concept for Christians to understand. The fact that Jesus did all His earthly ministry by the anointing of the Holy Spirit means although Jesus is God, He lived in this earth as a man filled with the Holy Spirit. The same Holy Spirit who was at work in Jesus to heal, save and deliver men is in every believer.

In fact, Jesus took this a step further. He did not say the Church would do only the same works He did. He said, “I tell you the truth, anyone who believes in me will do the same works I have done, and even greater works, because I am going to be with the Father” (John 14:12). God’s will for the Church is that even greater works be done now by His Spirit.

Take off the limits and shake off any fears. Let God live BIG inside you! Receive the Holy Spirit and live every moment by His power. Your life will never be the same!
