Real Help Topic: Learn

Christians often use the word righteousness, but what does it actually mean? And more personally, are you righteous?

That question may feel uncomfortable. Some people assume righteousness is something you earn by doing good, trying harder, or avoiding failure. Others feel the opposite—that they could never qualify because of their flaws.

But the Bible presents a much simpler and deeper truth: Righteousness means being in right-standing with God.

And here’s the surprising part: If you belong to Jesus, that’s already true of you. Let’s take a closer look.

Righteousness Isn’t Earned | It’s Given

Scripture makes it clear: “We are made right with God by placing our faith in Jesus Christ” (Romans 3:22).

Many people spend their lives trying to be “good enough” for God. But righteousness doesn’t come from behavior; it comes from faith.

Because of Jesus’ death on the cross, our sin was taken away and His righteousness was given to us. That means righteousness isn’t something you achieve; it’s something you receive.

If you’ve trusted in Jesus, you are already right with God.

Righteous People In the Bible

This idea isn’t new. Throughout Scripture, God called people righteous not because they were perfect, but because they trusted Him.

  • Noah is described as a righteous man who walked faithfully with God (Genesis 6:9). He lived in a corrupt world and wasn’t flawless, but he trusted God.
  • Abraham is another key example. “Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness” (James 2:23, NIV). His righteousness came from belief, not performance.
  • Lot is even called “righteous Lot” (2 Peter 2:7–8), despite living in a deeply sinful city and making questionable choices. What mattered was his heart; he was troubled by evil and still aligned with God.

Hebrews 11, often called the “Hall of Faith,” highlights many people who were honored not for perfection, but for their trust in God.

The pattern is clear: Righteousness has always been rooted in faith and relationship, not flawless behavior.

You Don’t Have To Live Under Guilt

Many believers struggle with guilt from past mistakes. They focus more on their failures than on what Christ has done.

But Scripture says, “There is no condemnation for those who belong to Christ Jesus” (Romans 8:1).

When you come to Christ, you are forgiven and given a new identity. You don’t have to see yourself as condemned. You can begin to see yourself as God does: forgiven, restored and accepted.

Righteousness Changes How You Live

When you understand that you are right with God, it transforms your perspective.

You can approach Him with confidence. You can pray boldly, trust His promises, and live with faith instead of fear.

Romans 5:17 says that those who receive the gift of righteousness can “reign in life” through Jesus. That means you’re not meant to live defeated; you’re meant to live with hope, strength and purpose.

The Simple Truth

When Christians talk about righteousness, they’re not talking about perfection.

They mean:

  • Your sins are forgiven through Jesus.
  • You are in right-standing with God.
  • You belong to God’s family.

Righteousness isn’t something you work for; it’s something Jesus gives. And once you truly understand that, it changes how you see God and how you see yourself.

When the world feels unstable, it can be difficult to maintain a clear, faith-based perspective. News headlines, economic pressures, and personal challenges can shift your focus toward frustration or confusion. Yet God never intended for believers to live tossed back and forth by circumstances. He gave us His Word so we could see life from His perspective.

Kenneth and Gloria Copeland have taught for decades that a faith-based perspective doesn’t happen by accident: It happens by decision. You may not be able to control everything around you, but you can control how you respond to it. By learning what you can and can’t, you can develop a faith-based perspective that keeps you steady no matter what is happening in the world.

Here are two key areas that will help you stay grounded in faith.

Control What You Can | Your Actions

“When someone comes to me, listens to my teaching, and then follows it. It is like a person building a house who digs deep and lays the foundation on solid rock” (Luke 6:47-48).

A faith-based perspective begins with what you choose to do. You cannot control world events, other people’s decisions or unexpected circumstances. But you can take control of your actions: what you believe, what you say and what you do with God’s Word.

Jesus compared obedience to building a house on solid rock. Storms will come. Pressure will arise. But when your life is built on the Word of God, those storms cannot destroy your foundation.

Developing a faith-based perspective requires intentional action. It means choosing to respond to life according to God’s promises rather than according to your emotions or what you see in the natural.

For example, if fear tries to rise up, your action is to go to the Word and speak what God says. If discouragement comes, you feed your faith by reading Scripture, listening to teaching and praying in the spirit. Instead of reacting to circumstances, you respond with faith.

Romans 10:17 reminds us that “faith comes from hearing, that is, hearing the Good News about Christ.” Faith grows when you consistently put God’s Word into your heart.

Here are practical actions to keep your perspective rooted in faith:

  • Read God’s Word daily. Even a few minutes each day strengthens your spirit and renews your thinking.
  • Speak the promises of God out loud. Your words shape the direction of your thoughts and your faith.
  • Choose faith-filled input. What you listen to and watch influences your perspective.
  • Act on what God’s Word says. Faith becomes powerful when it is put into practice.

Think of it like steering a vehicle. You may not control the road conditions, but you can control the steering wheel. When you keep steering your life toward God’s Word, you stay on the path of faith.

Control What You Can’t | Your Attitude

“And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable” (Philippians 4:8).

While your actions are important, your attitude is just as powerful. In fact, your attitude often determines whether your faith remains strong or becomes shaken.

You may not be able to control certain situations, but you can take control of how you think about them.

The Apostle Paul gave clear instructions in his letter to the Philippians. Instead of dwelling on fear, negativity or worry, believers are instructed to focus their thoughts on what is true and worthy of praise.

This kind of thinking doesn’t ignore reality. Instead, it places God’s truth above circumstances.

For example, if the world says things are getting worse, your faith-based attitude remembers that God is still your Provider, Protector and Source. If challenges arise in your personal life, your attitude stays anchored in the promise that God is working all things together for your good (Romans 8:28).

Attitude is powerful because it shapes how you interpret everything happening around you.

Two people can face the same situation and respond completely differently. One focuses on fear and defeat. The other focuses on God’s promises and expects victory.

The difference is perspective. Here are practical ways to guard your attitude and maintain your faith-based point of view:

  • Choose gratitude. Thanking God keeps your heart focused on His goodness.
  • Refuse negative thinking. Replace fearful thoughts with Scripture.
  • Stay connected to faith-filled believers. Encouragement strengthens your outlook.
  • Remember God’s past faithfulness. What He has done before, He can do again.

A faith-based attitude does not mean you never face pressure. It means pressure does not determine your perspective.

Stability in an Unstable World

“Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think” (Romans 12:2).

When you choose the right actions and maintain the right attitude, something powerful happens: Your life becomes stable—even when the world around you is not.

Instead of living in emotional ups and downs, you develop spiritual steadiness. Your peace is no longer determined by headlines, opinions or temporary circumstances.

Following this plan produces positive results. Your mind stays clear, your emotions stay balanced and your faith grows stronger. But ignoring it often leads to the opposite: continual cycles of worry, stress and instability.

The good news is that God has already provided everything you need to see life from His perspective.

When you take control of your actions by standing on His Word, and you take control of your attitude by fixing your thoughts on His promises, your perspective begins to change. Instead of seeing life through the lens of fear or confusion, you begin to see it through the lens of faith.

And when you live with a faith-based perspective, you discover something powerful: No matter how uncertain the world becomes, your life can remain firmly grounded on the unshakable truth of God’s Word.

4 Simple Shifts That Create a Satisfied Life

Do you have areas of your life where you don’t feel content, and where you pray for new beginnings? Most people do. They may want better health, stronger relationships, financial stability or a closer walk with God.

Here’s the truth: If you want to become a better version of yourself, it’s time to change your self-image. New beginnings do not start when your circumstances change. They start when you change how you see yourself.

You are limited by your self-image. You cannot consistently live beyond the image you carry on the inside. But there’s good news! You are a child of God, and His Holy Spirit lives in you. When you lean on who God says you are in His Word, you can begin to change how you see yourself. That’s where your new and improved image begins.

Let’s explore three biblical ways you can achieve new beginnings in your self-image.

Renew Your Mind

“Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think” (Romans 12:2).

When you received Jesus, your spirit became brand-new (2 Corinthians 5:17), but your mind did not automatically begin to think differently. There are still thoughts, habits and mindsets that have not yet been renewed to the truth of God’s Word.

A lifetime of seeing yourself as defeated, overlooked, sick, unworthy or stuck needs to be overwritten by the truth that God has made you new.

“For as he thinks in his heart, so is he” (Proverbs 23:7, NKJV).

Your life follows your dominant self-image. Your mind must be renewed and trained to agree with what God says about you. Imagine you’ve inherited a multimillion dollar estate. But you are unaware of your inheritance, so you live homeless on the streets. You’re not living in the truth.

This lack of understanding of who God made you keeps you from knowing that you are right with God (2 Corinthians 5:21). But now, with this information, you can live your life confidently.

The difference is not God’s willingness. The difference is how you see yourself.

How to apply this:

  • Spend daily time in God’s Word to discover who you are in Christ
  • Find and meditate on scriptures that define your identity—redeemed, healed, blessed, favored
  • When old thoughts resurface, purposefully answer them with God’s truth.

To change how you see yourself, you must allow the Word to repaint your inner picture.

Change Your Words

“The tongue can bring death or life” (Proverbs 18:21).

Your words reinforce your identity and can create new beginnings in your life.

If you constantly say, “I feel like a failure,” “I always struggle,” or “Nothing ever works out for me,” you are strengthening the wrong image in your heart and reinforcing a lie.

Jesus said that believing and speaking work together (Mark 11:23). What you believe in your heart and say with your mouth can change how you see yourself and shape your future.

Consider Gideon. When the Angel of the Lord called him a “mighty man of valor” (Judges 6:12, NKJV), he did not see himself that way. He saw weakness. But God spoke to who Gideon really was. As Gideon began to act on God’s Word, his identity changed, and so did his outcome.

When you change your words to agree with God’s, you begin to see yourself as God sees you.

How to apply this:

  • Speak scriptures over yourself daily
  • Refuse to label yourself by past failures
  • Create simple faith confessions that align with your new identity.

Don’t wait until you feel it. Say what God says about you even before you feel it. Your words will help establish a self-image rooted in truth.

Change Your Actions

“But don’t just listen to God’s word. You must do what it says” (James 1:22).

If you want to permanently change how you see yourself, your actions must line up with your renewed thinking.

Faith is not passive. It moves.

When you begin acting like who God says you are, you reflect Him. If you see yourself as generous, you give. If you see yourself as forgiven, you forgive others. If you see yourself as healed, you take steps of faith toward health.

Jesus said the wise man hears the Word and does it (Matthew 7:24-25). When storms came, his house stood firm. Why? Because his life was built on faith that produced action.

Your obedience reinforces your identity as a reflection of Christ.

For example, if you believe in restored relationships, act in love even when your emotions resist. As you discover these new beginnings with Jesus in your life, change how you see yourself from a victim to a victorious child of God.

Action solidifies transformation.

How to apply this:

  • Take one step today that reflects who God says you are
  • Obey quickly when the Holy Spirit prompts you
  • Practice consistency in small areas. Identity is built daily.

When your actions align with God’s Word, your inner image begins to reflect who you truly are: God’s child.

True New Beginnings Start Within

“Great is his faithfulness; his mercies begin afresh each morning” (Lamentations 3:23).

God is the God of new beginnings. His mercy is fresh every day. But lasting change is not a byproduct of willpower. It comes from knowing you are a child of the Most High God, with all the rights and privileges that brings.

When you renew your mind, speak life and act in faith, you step into being the person God created you to be. Contentment will follow. “Godliness with contentment is great gain” (1 Timothy 6:6, NKJV).

The new and improved you is not someone you strive to become;
it is who you already are in Christ.

Realize who you are in Christ Jesus. When you change how you see yourself according to God’s Word, everything else begins to change. Walk forward in faith. New beginnings have already begun.

4 Truths About Who You Are In Christ

Clutter doesn’t appear overnight. It builds slowly until what once felt manageable becomes overwhelming. Boxes stack up. Space disappears. And suddenly, you’re surrounded by things you never meant to keep.

The same thing can happen with your thought life when you stop renewing your mind.

Worry, pressure, and ungodly beliefs don’t arrive in your mind all at once. They slip into your thoughts quietly. Over time, if not dealt with, they can crowd out your peace and erode your confidence in God. Your mind feels full but not fulfilled. But God has provided the answer for this. It’s time for renewing your mind.

God never intended for you to live mentally overloaded. His Word shows you how to clear out your mental clutter and make room for peace, faith and renewed strength.

Paul said it this way: “Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think” (Romans 12:2).

Renewing your mind is how transformation becomes practical in everyday life.

Learn how to recognize mental clutter, remove it through repentance, take authority over your thoughts and begin renewing your mind with God’s Word. You will find that as you control your thought life, you will live with peace and confidence every day.

Identify What Doesn’t Belong in Your Mind

Not every thought you have is from God. And not every thought deserves your attention. Mental clutter often sounds reasonable. Logical. Even familiar. But those are not the gauges by which we evaluate thoughts. It is by the Word of God. If a thought contradicts God’s Word, it does not belong in your mind.

Self-defeating thoughts like, “Nothing ever changes,” “I guess this is just how it’s going to be,” or “I don’t know how I’ll get through this” may sound realistic and even humble, but they oppose God’s promises of peace, provision, healing and victory.

Meditating on work stress, medical reports, financial pressure or family conflict are common. Jesus calls these “cares of this world” (Mark 4:19, KJV). But when your thoughts spend more time on issues and less on God’s preeminence in your life, your dependence slowly shifts away from God and onto yourself.

This is why renewing your mind by faith is crucial to the life of any believer. Those runaway cares choke the Word, crowd out faith and keep God’s promises from producing results.

Here’s the key: You can accept or reject thoughts.

You don’t have to analyze every thought. You don’t have to sit with it. And you don’t have to agree with it. Like a guard at a door, you choose what comes in and what gets turned away. Stop that thought and say, “That doesn’t agree with God’s Word, and I refuse to think it.”

Ask yourself:

  • Does this line up with what God says?
  • Does it produce peace or pressure?
  • Is this faith or fear?

If it doesn’t agree with God’s truth, it’s clutter. This is why renewing your mind is a biblical precept believers must take seriously. Don’t manage the mental clutter. Remove it.

Renewing Your Mind Through Repentance, Not Shame

One of the fastest ways to clear mental clutter is repentance. Shame won’t do it. Self-criticism only hurts you. And condemnation is outlawed by God’s Word (Romans 8:1). Repentance is simply agreeing with God and purposefully changing direction.

When you repent for allowing fear, worry or doubt to dominate your thinking, God responds immediately. “If we confess our sins…he is faithful and just to forgive us…and to cleanse us from all wickedness” (1 John 1:9).

Repentance restores peace. It lifts the weight of guilt. And it opens the door for faith to flourish.

Apply This Now:

  • Repent for agreeing with fear, worry or doubt.
  • Thank God immediately for forgiving and cleansing you.
  • Say out loud: “My mind is cleansed by the Word of God.”

Stop Wrong Thoughts Before They Set the Direction

Decluttering or renewing your mind doesn’t happen by accident. It’s intentional. The Bible calls this spiritual warfare, not against people or circumstances, but against a thought life that opposes what God says. God has already equipped you for victory.

Take up the shield of faith (Ephesians 6:16) and stop wrong thoughts before they settle in.

Jesus has already given you authority (Luke 10:19). When you speak God’s Word, you’re not trying to gain authority, you’re enforcing what He already provided.

You don’t purify your thought life with better thoughts but with your words.

God’s Word spoken out loud combats the lies of the errant thoughts and replaces them with the His truth.

When a wrong thought comes, don’t silently wrestle with it. Decide in advance that your first response will be God’s Word.

Say what God says. Out loud. On purpose.

Faith steps in when you decide that God’s Word is true, no matter how the thought feels.

Fill Your Mind With What Belongs There

Renewing your mind does not mean leaving your mind empty. An empty mind invites clutter. Once ungodly chatter is removed, it must be replaced with God’s Word.

God’s Word brings order. It stabilizes your thinking. It strengthens your faith. When the Word fills your mind, peace follows. “Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly” (Colossians 3:16, KJV). Faith grows where the Word is given room to live.

Three easy ways to begin filling your mind with God’s Word is to read it daily, even just five minutes; pick and meditate on one scripture for the day; speak God’s promises aloud in the face of pressure.

Choose Peace by Renewing Your Mind

God’s plan for your life is not mental overload; it’s peace and confidence in Him.

When you recognize spiritual clutter for what it is, repent and let God cleanse your thinking. Take authority over your thought life and intentionally fill your mind with His Word. Freedom will follow. A renewed mind helps you hear God clearly, believe Him fully and respond in faith no matter what you face.

Make the decision today to guard your mind the same way you would guard your home. As you consistently choose God’s Word over worry and faith over fear, peace won’t just visit; it will stay. And from that place of peace, faith can do what it was designed to do: produce victory in your life.

Raising children of God in today’s digital age requires intentional faith and spiritual clarity. Galatians 3:13-14 declares a life-shaping promise for every believing family: “Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law…That the blessing of Abraham might come…that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith” (New King James Version).

This promise is not only personal; it is generational. Through Jesus Christ we have been redeemed, and our sons and daughters are called to live as children of God. In a scroll-driven world where social media feeds never end and digital voices constantly compete for attention, identity and influence, we must be intentional about using our spiritual authority to raise our children to know who they are.

Raising Children of God In a Culture Competing for Identity

Today’s next generation is growing up in a digital ecosystem designed to shape beliefs and behaviors. Algorithms learn preferences. Influencers model lifestyles. Trends redefine truth. Children can scroll for hours without ever realizing they are being discipled.

In many homes–whether two-parent, single-parent or blended families–the competition for a child’s heart feels intense. Deuteronomy 28 describes sons and daughters being carried away into captivity. In our time, that captivity may look like addiction to screens, confusion about identity, rebellion, anxiety, comparison or moral compromise.

But Galatians 3:13 reminds us that Christ has redeemed us from the curse. Our sons and daughters are not destined for captivity. They are called to live grounded in truth and anchored in Covenant promise.

Teaching Identity Before the World Defines It

In a scroll-driven world, identity is often shaped by likes, comments and followers. But Scripture tells a different story. Our children should not discover who they are online; they discover who they are in Christ.

Parents must intentionally teach their sons and daughters what it means to be children of God:

  • They are chosen.
  • They are loved.
  • They are redeemed.
  • They are called.
  • They are set apart.

If we do not disciple our children in their God-given identity, culture will gladly provide an alternative.

Raising children of God means speaking biblical identity over them daily. It means reminding them that their worth is not determined by appearance, popularity or performance. It means helping them understand that their value is rooted in Christ.

Exercising Spiritual Authority In Every Family

Whether you are parenting in a traditional home, leading as a single parent, or navigating the dynamics of a blended family, your authority in Christ remains unchanged. You have both the right and the responsibility to stand in prayer for your household, exercising your spiritual authority as a believer.

Children may not recognize the spiritual forces influencing their thoughts and habits. That is why parents must remain spiritually alert. When you notice rebellion, secrecy, unhealthy online patterns or emotional withdrawal, address it with wisdom and love.

Go to the Word. Declare God’s promises. Pray protection over their minds. Speak peace over their hearts. Refuse to allow the enemy to claim territory in the lives of your children.

You cannot monitor every scroll, but you can guard their spiritual atmosphere through your spiritual authority.

Connection Over Competition

If screens compete for attention, parents must compete with presence.

Children need more than rules; they need relationship. They need conversation without condemnation. They need correction wrapped in compassion. They need time, affirmation and physical expressions of love.

In blended families, this may require building trust intentionally. In single-parent homes, it may require extraordinary endurance. In every setting, love builds influence. Spiritual authority flows best through love and consistency.

When children feel secure at home, the lure of digital validation weakens. When their hearts are anchored in belonging, comparison loses power. Love is not passive; it is strategic.

Fathers and Mothers: Modeling What It Means To Be Children of God

Parents cannot impart what they do not model. When mothers and fathers walk humbly with God, pray openly, repent when wrong and pursue integrity, they demonstrate what it means to live as children of God.

Fathers, your spiritual leadership matters. Mothers, your perseverance matters. Single parents, your faithfulness matters. Stepparents, your consistency matters.

God’s grace fills every gap. His Spirit strengthens every willing heart.

Hope for the Scroll-Driven Generation

There will be moments of discouragement. You may feel outnumbered by cultural voices. But Jeremiah 31:16-17 promises hope: your labor is not in vain, and your children shall return from the land of the enemy.

Second Peter 2:9 assures us that the Lord knows how to deliver. He knows how to reach your son. He knows how to reach your daughter. No algorithm is more powerful than the Holy Spirit. No trend overrides Covenant promise.

Our responsibility is to raise them faithfully as children of God and trust the Lord with the results.

A Prayer for Our Children of God

“Father, I thank You that my sons and daughters are redeemed through Christ. I declare that they are children of God, chosen and loved.

Guard their hearts in this scroll-driven world. I exercise my spiritual authority and declare that no deception will take root in their lives. Let Your Word be louder than every cultural voice.

Give me wisdom to parent with courage, compassion, and conviction. Help me model what it means to live as a child of God.

I declare that my children walk in truth, wisdom and peace. When they are older, they will not depart from Your ways. I commit these children of God into Your faithful hands.

In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”

Raising children of God in a scroll-driven world requires vigilance, intentional discipleship, spiritual authority and unwavering love. But we do not parent from fear; we parent from redemption.

Because of Christ, our sons and daughters are not defined by culture. They are defined by Covenant. They are, and will remain, children of God.

The season of Lent is scheduled during the 40 days before Good Friday, the holiday that commemorates the crucifixion of Jesus Christ and is observed in many parts of the world. Although Protestant Christians do not traditionally observe Lent, believers do recognize the importance of reflection, prayer and fasting as vital spiritual disciplines. These practices help strengthen our relationship with God and keep our hearts focused on His will and His Word.

A Season of Reflection

Reflection is a godly practice that allows you to honestly evaluate your relationship with God–where you have been and where He is leading you. It is intentional time set apart from distractions to examine how your life aligns with God’s principles and purposes. Reflection is not meant to bring condemnation, but clarity and growth.

God’s Word is the foundation for meaningful reflection. As you search the Scriptures, allow them to measure your thoughts, decisions and actions. There are many helpful study tools available. We recommend The Kenneth Copeland Word of Faith Study Bible, which provides insights and explanations to help you better understand Scripture. You can also find valuable teaching and resources at kcm.org to guide you into deeper reflection. As you compare your life to God’s Word, be open to making adjustments to solidify your relationship with God.

As you reflect, take time to meditate on God’s will for your life. Take an inventory of what actions in your life lead you away from the Word of God and evaluate your daily obedience to His direction. Ask yourself: What is God calling me to do? How am I responding to His direction? These questions are personal and powerful. They are designed to draw you closer to God, not to discourage you. Jesus prayed, “Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven” (Matthew 6:10, KJV). That prayer can become your own heartfelt desire as you submit your plans to Him.

As you meditate on Him, remember how deeply and unconditionally He loves you (Romans 8:38-39). As you do, your reflection becomes rooted in that love. God loves you with an everlasting love and desires to see you succeed in every area of life. His Holy Spirit stands ready to help you and guide you as you walk with Him in trust and obedience.

A Season of Prayer

Prayer is not meant to be complicated or mysterious. At its most fundamental level, prayer is simply communicating with God–talking with Him, sharing your heart and listening for His guidance. You can pray out loud or silently in your heart; God hears every prayer. He responds with ongoing fellowship offering wisdom, protection and direction. Through prayer, you enter into God’s presence with confidence. “Because of Christ and our faith in him, we can now come boldly and confidently into God’s presence” (Ephesians 3:12).

One foundation in every believer’s life is a time of repentance. Before being born again, you were separated from God because of sin. Repentance is the doorway into a restored relationship with Him. Repentance is not intended to be a one-time act. As your understanding of God grows, the Holy Spirit may prompt you to repent of attitudes or actions that pull you away from Him. Heartfelt repentance leads you to a lifestyle of freedom. Repentance is a gift. It clears your conscience and removes anything that hinders fellowship with God. The Apostle John wrote, “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness” (1 John 1:8-9, NKJV)

As your relationship with God grows, you may also sense a desire to commit or dedicate yourself to God in a deeper way. This type of prayer is an intentional act of offering yourself to God. This type of dedication simply renews your commitment to walk with God. This close relationship with Him will continually shape your life for His glory and your good.

A Season of Fasting

What is the purpose of fasting? Fasting is a spiritual discipline that helps train your flesh and focus your attention on God instead of physical or emotional desires. It creates space to hear God more clearly and respond to Him more fully.

How do you fast? Most people associate fasting with food–choosing to abstain from certain foods or meals and using that time to pray and meditate on God’s Word. Scripture provides several examples. Daniel fasted by refusing the king’s rich foods and choosing a simple diet instead (Daniel 1:8-16). Jesus fasted before facing the temptations of the devil, strengthening Himself spiritually to stand victorious (Luke 4:1-2).

In today’s culture, fasting may also include stepping away from distractions such as television, social media or news for a set period of time. A fast can involve anything that takes your time, time that could otherwise be spent with God. The purpose is always the same: to shift your focus from natural desires to a greater awareness of God and His love for you.

During this season of Lent, spend some time thinking about activities and time you spend in your personal life. Is there something you could fast for a season as you intentionally draw near to the Lord?

Draw Near to God This Lent

Make this the season you engage in the spiritual disciplines of prayer, reflection and fasting in new ways. Allow the traditional 40 days of Lent to become a lifestyle of daily communing with God. By intentionally dedicating time to the Lord, you will see positive change–not only in your relationship with God, but also in your outlook, your relationships with others and the peace within your heart.

Remember the old song: “Nobody likes me, everybody hates me, guess I’ll go eat worms“?

It’s a silly childhood song, but it touches on something very real. Deep down, we all want to be in loving relationships. However, we don’t always know how to receive or give love, because real love is based on a loving relationship with a loving God.

The foundation for showing and receiving love to yourself and others stems from understanding and receiving God’s love for you.

We Love Because God First Loved Us

Accepting God’s offer of love is your first step toward knowing, receiving and giving real love.

God’s love for you isn’t distant, theoretical or conditional. He is so invested in loving you that in your state of unworthiness, God sent His only Son, Jesus, to be sacrificed in your place and make you acceptable to Him. If you had been the only person who needed forgiveness, Jesus still would have done it–all because of a loving relationship that started with Him.

“And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow–not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love. No power in the sky above or in the earth below–indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
(Romans 8:38-39)

For many people, this is the hardest kind of love to receive.

No matter how many times the preacher stands in the pulpit and tells us, “God loves you,” we are often so immersed in self-doubt and uncertainty that we can’t really believe it’s true.

But it is true! God already knows you completely and loves you deeply.

God’s love is not like the love people give each other. A person’s love is dependent on emotions and human expectations. God’s not like that. He is kind and gentle as He directs you toward Himself. The love of God never ends. If receiving God’s love feels difficult, start small. Begin by simply saying this each day: “I am loved by God.”

Not because of what you’ve done.
Not because of what you can offer.
But because that’s Who God is.

God’s love is steady and patient and never fails. He wants to bless you, strengthen you and walk with you every day. But what can you do to love Him? A loving relationship is about giving and receiving. That’s how the Lord created love to exist between people.

Spend time with Him and listen as He speaks to you. Be obedient, even in little things. Show God honor and respect. Read His Word and allow His Holy Spirit to reveal and explain it to you.

God is always available to you, so make yourself available to Him.

How To Give Love to Others

Jesus made it evident how important love is in our relationships: “So now I am giving you a new commandment: Love each other. Just as I have loved you, you should love each other” (John 13:34).

Whether you’re thinking about loving relationships with family, friends or a potential spouse, love grows best when it’s both freely given and openly received. Love is usually expressed in two simple but powerful ways: through our words and through our actions.

Your words have immense power to influence others. What you say to someone can make a difference. A person may come back to you days or even years later with strong feelings and memories about what you said. A hurtful statement, even if it’s said unwittingly, can have a lasting impact. In situations like that, the power of a phrase as simple as “Please forgive me” cannot be overstated. It has the potential to reignite trust and love faster than anything else.

Actions are tangible ways to express yourself and give love. A smile, a touch or a gift can have a lasting influence and give credence to the future of your loving relationship.

Here are some practical, heartfelt ways to give love to others:

  • Give of yourself sincerely. People can sense when love is genuine.
  • Demonstrate that you are trustworthy and that you’ll be there when they need you.
  • Smile and respond with warmth and joy. Let others know you’re glad to see or hear from them.
  • Show love by giving them your full attention–listen actively and remember what matters to them.
  • Be thoughtful about the needs of those you love.
  • Choose to think good things about them.
  • Be sensitive to their schedules and moods before requesting their time.
  • Pray for them regularly and sincerely.

How To Receive Love From Others

Most people want to give love, yet many don’t feel loved. Past hurts, disappointments or unhealthy relationships can subtly lead someone to believe that love isn’t safe or that they don’t deserve it.

If that’s you, you’re not alone.

Receiving love often requires a gentle shift in how we think about ourselves and others. It means allowing yourself to be seen, valued and cared for even when it feels uncomfortable.

Here are a few ways to begin opening your heart to receive love:

  • Open your heart to receive what others offer, whether through words or actions.
  • Choose to believe the best about people’s intentions.
  • Receive their attention at the level they are willing to give it.
  • Consider their advice and insights with an open heart.
  • Refuse offense in all forms.
  • Make time to be with others, even when life feels busy.
  • Expect their words to come from a place of love, not harm.

Encouragement Moving Forward In a Loving Relationship

Make the choice–on purpose–to give time and attention to others to show your love for them. And on purpose receive their time and attention as they express their love for you.

Most of all, open your heart and decide to receive God’s everlasting, unfailing love for you by making Jesus your Savior and Lord. This is the first genuine and loving relationship any of us should experience.

You don’t have to believe the lie that nobody cares. You don’t have to “go eat worms.”
You are loved by God–fully, faithfully and forever. And as you grow in that truth, you’ll find a new, healthier way of both giving and receiving love to and from Him and others.

Every heart, at some point, whispers the same quiet questions. Maybe you have asked yourself something similar.

  • Does anyone know the real me?
  • If people did know me, would they still like me?
  • Does anyone genuinely care?
  • Who?

In a world filled with temporary connections and surface-level relationships, it’s easy to feel invisible. Yet the Word of God gives us a powerful, hope-filled answer: Someone does know the real you, cares for you and has pledged Himself to you in everlasting covenant love.

Let’s look at what the Lord says about you, why God cares and how this relationship will bring you security that never ends.

Is God Interested in Me?

Many people believe God is aware of the world but not personally involved in the lives of its people. They find themselves thinking, No one knows me or cares about me. I am alone.

The Bible says otherwise. Psalm 139 paints a beautiful picture of how deeply God cares about you. It says that God knew you before you were formed in the womb. He chose you! Jesus revealed that God knows you so well that He knows the number of hairs on your head (Matthew 10:30). In other words, God has numbered each hair on your head personally. Nothing about you is too small for God to watch over. That level of detail isn’t a coincidence; it’s covenant commitment.

You are not a mistake. You are divinely created with traits and gifts picked by the Creator Himself. He sees your struggles, hopes, fears and dreams. His love for you is not casual. It is intentional, constant and rooted in the unshakable nature of His covenant with you.

Real-Life Application:

Cultivate awareness of God’s presence by taking small pauses throughout your day and saying, “Father, thank You for knowing the real me and caring about me.” You’ll be amazed at how your heart softens toward Him.

Will Having a Relationship With God Show Me He Cares?

A relationship with God isn’t complicated. In fact, it’s easy to ask for one because His unfailing love made the way.

John 3:16 clearly shows God’s heart and that He cares about you. He wants you in His family so much that He sent Jesus to rescue you. Through Jesus, the door to a personal relationship and fellowship with God swings wide open. Romans 10:9-10 tells us when you believe in your heart that Jesus is Lord, and confess it, or say it out loud, you instantly, fully become His child.

To begin your relationship with God, pray:

“Lord Jesus, I receive You as my Savior and Lord.” Continue with the words Gloria Copeland prayed when she accepted Jesus, “Take my life and do something with it.”

At that moment, God’s Spirit comes through that prayer and begins to teach you that God knows you and still loves you. He promises to guide your steps. The question, “Who cares?” is answered because now you know who cares–God cares! The devil, the one who introduced those lies in the beginning, will try to reintroduce those thoughts; but now the person of the Holy Spirit on the inside will remind you of the truth. You’re not alone, you’re in covenant with the God who never fails you nor abandons you (Hebrews 13:5).

What Happens If I Break the Relationship?

You may stumble and fall, none of us are perfect, but that’s OK because God’s covenant love never fails. Sin can interrupt your fellowship with Him, but it cannot erase His commitment to you. The prodigal son’s father didn’t hesitate. Even after his son lost everything, the dad ran toward him with open arms to restore him (Luke 15:11-22). That’s covenant love in action.

And 1 John 1:9 gives you the solution: “If we confess our sins to him, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins” Faithful means God won’t change His mind about you. And Just means God honoring His promise every time makes your covenant a legally binding relationship.

When you make a mistake, turn to God immediately. Say, “Father, please forgive me for my sin. I receive Your forgiveness.” Restoration begins the moment you ask.

Does This New Relationship With God End?

This is the best part: The relationship never ends! Covenant love is eternal. Jesus said no one can snatch you out of God’s hand (John 10:28). God’s relationship with you isn’t fragile or temporary. It is unwavering, everlasting and secure in His unchangeable character.

Eternal life begins the moment you receive Jesus and continues without end. Nothing, absolutely nothing, can separate you from God’s love!

Real-Life Application:

So, is there anyone who truly knows the real you and still cares for you? Yes. God does.

  • He is interested in you.
  • He invites you into a relationship.
  • He restores you with compassion.
  • Because His love is covenant love, your relationship with Him never ends.

Rest today in the comfort of His love. Say with assurance, “Lord, thank You for knowing the real me and still loving me.”

You are known. You are not forsaken. You are forever loved.

Every believer wants strong faith, but not every believer understands covenant faith. Covenant faith is not wishful thinking or emotional confidence; it is unshakable trust anchored in the unbreakable agreement God made with you through Jesus Christ.
Neither willpower nor human reasoning can replace the power of faith in God. God’s covenant never changes, even when life feels unstable. That assurance allows us to be bold when challenges arise and remain anchored when answers seem delayed.

So, how do you become strong in covenant faith? Scripture gives us clear direction. “Be on guard. Stand firm in the faith. Be courageous. Be strong” (1 Corinthians 16:13). God has provided everything you need to walk in a faith that is alive, growing and victorious. Below are the foundational principles that sustain your faith.

Discover how to walk confidently in the unbreakable promises God has made to you.

Believe That God Has a Personal Commitment to You

Covenant faith begins with a revelation of this truth: God is fully committed to you.

Throughout the Word, God reveals Himself as a covenant-making, covenant-keeping Father. His promises are not casual suggestions or good ideas. They are binding, living words backed by His nature, character and integrity. Unlike people who change their minds or back out of agreements, His commitment is to never change. When God enters into this covenant, He declares, “Everything I am and everything I have stands behind My Word to you.”

This means God’s care for you is neither seasonal nor emotional nor dependent on your performance. That oath is rooted in His everlasting love, which does not weaken with time nor waver under pressure. Because of that love, your faith grows when you become deeply convinced that God’s promises are as sure as His very existence.

Strength Builder:
Declare daily: “My God is faithful to His covenant with me. He cannot lie, and He will not fail.”
As you speak this truth, your heart aligns with God’s unwavering commitment, and your faith rises to match His faithfulness.

Build Your Life on God’s Covenant Word

Covenant faith cannot exist without covenant Scripture.

God’s Word is His bond, and His bond is His Word. When you meditate on Scripture, speak it, pray it and act on it, you anchor your life in eternal truth, rather than shifting natural conditions.

Romans 10:17 tells us that faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God. This kind of faith grows through repetition, meditation and application. The more you hear the Word, the more convinced your heart becomes that what God said, He will surely do.

When challenges arise, strong faith does not look to circumstances for confirmation; it looks to God’s promises. When symptoms speak, faith answers with healing scriptures. When lack whispers, faith responds with promises of God’s provision. When fear tries to rise, faith speaks the truth of God’s protection.

Strength Builder:
Choose specific covenant promises related to the area you’re believing in: healing, peace, provision, restoration. Declare them boldly throughout your day. “But we continue to preach because we have the same kind of faith the psalmist had when he said, ‘I believed in God, so I spoke'” (2 Corinthians 4:13). The more the Word saturates your heart, the more it will naturally become a part of your conversation, and your faith will become more unwavering.

Stay In Fellowship With the One Who Made the Covenant

Covenant faith requires relationship. The more time you spend with God, through prayer, worship, the Word and quiet moments in His presence, the more you learn His character. And the more you know His character, the easier it becomes to trust Him completely. After all, God is your Father through faith in Christ Jesus (Galatians 3:26).

Fellowship with God softens your heart, renews your thinking and strengthens your spirit. When you talk with Him, listen to His voice, and allow His Spirit to guide your steps, your faith becomes personal, not theoretical. That’s part of your commitment to God. You stop seeing God’s promises as concepts and start seeing them as realities that belong to you because of His unfailing love.

Determined faith is never built in isolation. It grows in the presence of the One who initiated the covenant, fulfills it and empowers you to walk in it.

Strength Builder:
Set aside intentional time each day or evening to say, “Lord, I’m here. Speak to my heart.” Spending time with God produces familiarity; familiarity produces trust; and trust produces strong, resilient faith.

Live Confidently In the Covenant That Never Ends

One of the most significant foundations of faith is understanding that God’s covenant with you is eternal. His promises do not expire. His commitment does not weaken. His love does not fade. Faith becomes unshakable when you recognize that the God who promised is the God who performs, and He will do both for all eternity.

Jesus declared that no one could snatch you out of His hand (John 10:28). You are held in a relationship secured by His blood and upheld by His Word. When you know the relationship is permanent, your faith becomes bold. You stop wondering whether God will come through; you know He will, because God’s love does not fail.

Strength Builder:
End your day by saying: “God’s unbreakable love holds me now and forever. My faith rests in Him alone.”

Walk Strong In Covenant Faith

So, how do you become strong in covenant faith?

  • You root your life in the truth that God is personally committed to you
  • You build your faith on His unfailing Word
  • You stay close to Him in fellowship
  • You stand confidently on His everlasting, unbreakable covenant.

This is the kind of faith that endures, receives, overcomes and triumphs. This is covenant faith: steady, strong and unstoppable.

In a world full of voices, opinions and promises from spirit guides claiming to offer direction, it can be tempting to search for proper guidance. However, you do not need a substitute or a spiritual imitation. God has already given you the One true Spirit Guide, the Holy Spirit.

God’s authority can guide your life to the One who wants you to live in victory. Jesus promised that the Spirit would teach you, remind you of His words, and lead you into all truth (John 14:26).

Here is the good news: When you understand who the Holy Spirit is and how He works in your life, fear loses its grip, confusion loses its power, and faith rises with force.

This article will show you how the Holy Spirit leads you, reveals God’s plan for your life, and guides you every moment if you are willing to listen and follow Him.

The Holy Spirit Leads You Into Truth

Every day, you encounter messages. Some are helpful, others are harmful, and a few are entirely opposed to God’s Word. You don’t have to rely on your emotions or outside voices. Instead, be led by God’s authority and peace.

“When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all truth…. He will tell you about the future” (John 16:13).

That Spirit of Truth is your divine instructor, your counselor and your inward witness. He helps you recognize what agrees with Scripture and what does not. He alerts you when something is wrong and gives you peace when something is right. And because He never contradicts God’s Word, that guidance never fails.

Think of the Holy Spirit as a wise friend who always knows the right direction. Sometimes, He brings a Bible verse back to your heart. Other times, He nudges you quietly: Yes, go this way or No, don’t move forward.

How to apply this:

  • Invite the Holy Spirit into your decisions in your prayers for guidance.
  • Spend time in Scripture daily. He uses the Word to guide you.
  • Pay attention to inward peace, or the lack of it. His peace is often His direction.

He Knows God’s Plan for Your Life

One of the greatest comforts you have is this: God knows the entire plan for your life. That’s your calling, your relationships, your purpose and the steps you need to take. You do not have to guess your way through life. He has the authority to know it and tell you. “His Spirit searches out everything and shows us God’s deep secrets” (1 Corinthians 2:10).

The Spirit sees what you cannot see–past, present and future. He gives wisdom to avoid wrong turns and courage to move toward the opportunities God has prepared for you.

Just as a pilot relies on instruments when flying through fog, you can depend on the Holy Spirit when the next step isn’t clear. He knows the route, and He knows how to bring you into the place of victory God designed for you.

How to apply this:

  • Pray in the spirit daily. It aligns your heart with God’s plan.
  • Ask for your next step and trust the Holy Spirit’s timing.
  • Expect direction. He is never vague, uncertain or silent.

And He Will Never Leave You

“…As a guarantee he has given us his Holy Spirit” (2 Corinthians 5:5).

Jesus promised that the Holy Spirit would be with you–and in you–forever. The world’s version of a spirit guide will come and go. God does not leave when you make a mistake. He does not turn away when life becomes difficult.

  • When you feel overwhelmed, He brings peace.
  • When you feel weak, He strengthens you.
  • When fear tries to rise, He reminds you that you are never alone.

He is your helper, advocate and standby (John 14:16). He remains steady even when circumstances are not. And because He lives within you, you always have supernatural help available. A random spirit guide in the world can’t do that for anyone.

How to apply this:

  • Acknowledge the Holy Spirit’s presence throughout your day: “Holy Spirit, thank You for being with me.”
  • Speak the Word when fear or pressure comes. The Spirit strengthens what you speak by faith.
  • Lean into His comfort. He is always present and always ready to help.

You do not have to navigate life by guessing, worrying or searching for counterfeit “spirit guides.” You already have the One true Spirit Guide with God’s authority. He leads you into truth, reveals God’s plan for your life, and promises to stay with you always.

4 Ways To Be Led by the Spirit of God

It’s Christmas–a season bright with decorations, gifts and joyful celebration. Yet beneath all the beauty and excitement lies a truth far greater than anything wrapped beneath a tree: God’s Gift to you began with a baby. Long before the world celebrated Christmas, heaven revealed the most extraordinary act of love. God’s most precious Christmas Gift did not arrive in fine packaging, but in swaddling clothes, resting in a manger in Bethlehem.

From the beginning, God’s plan for Redemption was already set in motion. He knew mankind would fall, and He prepared the answer–a perfect, sinless Redeemer who would restore the fellowship lost in the Garden. That Redeemer entered the world as an infant. Jesus, the Son of God, was divinely qualified to fulfill every detail of God’s plan, so that through His finished work on the cross, humanity could once again walk in relationship with a loving Father.

That is why God’s Son had to be born into the earth. God’s Gift–Jesus–was given to every person, in every generation.

The Real First Day of Christmas

Jesus arrived perfect, untouched by the sin nature that marked every descendant of Adam. Born of the Holy Spirit, He carried a divine nature–the very nature He came to give us. On a quiet night in Bethlehem, heaven stepped into time. The virgin birth announced that this Child was unlike any other, because He came directly from God Himself.

The angel declared that Jesus was “the free gift of God” who brings “eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord” (Romans 6:23). Hidden in that humble manger was the seed for the entire harvest of Redemption. Just as a seed holds within it everything necessary for a future harvest, Jesus carried the power to restore all humanity.

Everything God had promised across generations pointed to this moment. The long-awaited Messiah had come–not only to reveal God’s heart, but to reconnect mankind to His life.

As Jesus grew, His life made His purpose unmistakable. Scripture tells us He traveled from village to village, preaching, teaching and healing (see Matthew 4:23, NKJV). His words carried authority unlike anything people had ever heard. The crowds marveled, saying, “No man ever spoke like this Man!” (John 7:46, NKJV). He unveiled a Father who loved deeply, reached willingly and lifted people from death into life. Through Jesus, the world saw a God who desired closeness, not distance.

A Christmas Gift Unwrapped

Yet Jesus’ compassionate ministry was only part of His mission. The Cross stood at the center of God’s plan. Redemption required a sinless sacrifice, and Jesus alone qualified. “God made Christ, who never sinned, to be the offering for our sin, so we could be made right with God” (2 Corinthians 5:21).

His sinless birth made His sin-bearing death possible. He carried every wrong, every failure and every burden. As Kenneth Copeland teaches, Jesus didn’t only die–He went into the depths of hell itself, taking the full penalty of sin so that you and I could walk free.

Then came the greatest display of God’s power the world will ever witness: Jesus rose again–alive forever and victorious. When you receive what Jesus has done, your spirit is instantly reborn. Fellowship with God is restored. The barrier of sin is removed, and you step into His family, His favor and His life.

This is why we celebrate Christmas. It marks the beginning of God’s Gift in the earth and the unveiling of God’s plan of Redemption. Your Christmas Gift from heaven–Jesus Himself–contains salvation, freedom and eternal life.

As you rejoice this season, remember: God’s Gift to You Started With a Baby, but it didn’t end there. John 3:16 reminds us, “For this is how God loved the world: He gave His one and only Son.” That Gift is still transforming lives today–and it has the power to transform yours.

Jesus speaking to His disciples in the Sermon on the Mount listed those whom God promises to bless with His covenant promises. You might feel disqualified to receive blessings from God. You might feel like you don’t know enough or haven’t done enough.

The good news is that while man looks at the outer appearance, God looks at the heart. If your heart is sincere and you want a better relationship with God, you can have it!

This is what the Sermon on the Mount is all about: Jesus was reminding His disciples that the heart of a person matters to God. And when someone’s heart is toward God and others, He blesses them!

Let’s examine these groups of people from Matthew 5 and endeavor to be among these mentions.

The Poor

God blesses those who are poor and realize their need for him, for the Kingdom of Heaven is theirs” (Matthew 5:3).

Jesus said the poor are blessed. This wasn’t a note about poverty. “The poor,” as noted during the Sermon on the Mount, are those who recognize their need for a relationship with God through Jesus Christ. When they reach out to Jesus, they are blessed. The greatest blessing anyone could receive is to be part of the kingdom of heaven and receive God’s covenant promises.

Those Who Mourn

God blesses those who mourn, for they will be comforted” (Matthew 5:4).

Jesus said that God would bless those who mourn by comforting them. When you have lost something or someone, you come face to face with the truth of your need for God. The most excellent comfort you can receive is knowing that God deeply loves and cares about you. He has a plan to anoint your soul with a healing salve, the oil of gladness (Hebrews 1:9, NKJV).

The Humble

God blesses those who are humble, for they will inherit the whole earth” (Matthew 5:5).

According to The American Heritage Dictionary of the English Language, 5th Edition, the word humble means “marked by meekness or modesty in behavior, attitude, or spirit; not arrogant or prideful.” Jesus said that if you are humble and meek, your pride won’t get in the way, and you can receive God’s covenant promises and inherit the whole earth.

Those Who Hunger and Thirst for Justice

God blesses those who hunger and thirst for justice, for they will be satisfied” (Matthew 5:6).

In this reference, Jesus was speaking about those who search for God will be satisfied. They will know God in this life if they continue to seek Him. The more of God you know, the more you will want to know Him. God is pleased when you hunger and thirst for Him.

The Merciful

God blesses those who are merciful, for they will be shown mercy” (Matthew 5:7).

Jesus promises you will receive mercy, not just from people, but also from God. Remember, you were a sinner, but God showed you mercy. He forgives you for all your sin, rebellion, and miserable attitude toward Him, and cleanses you from all wickedness (1 John 1:9). Then He provides you with His covenant promises of blessing.

Those With Pure Hearts

God blesses those whose hearts are pure, for they will see God” (Matthew 5:8).

What does it mean to have a pure heart? David prayed, “Create in me a clean heart, O God. Renew a loyal spirit within me. Do not banish me from your presence, and don’t take your Holy Spirit from me” (Psalm 51:10-11). Those who draw near to God and spend time with Him enjoy God’s presence in their daily lives. David did it with purpose, and now he is defined by his relationship with God.

Peacemakers

God blesses those who work for peace, for they will be called the children of God” (Matthew 5:9).

The word peace is usually thought of as “tranquility.” However, the English word “peace” is derived from the Hebrew word “shalom,” which can mean “wholeness of life or body (health); harmony between two parties; prosperity, success or fulfillment; and victory over one’s enemies or war.”

During the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus said that you can’t successfully work to be complete, whole, healthy, in harmony with others and prosperous without being a child of God.

Those Who Are Persecuted

God blesses those who are persecuted for doing right, for the Kingdom of Heaven is theirs” (Matthew 5:10).

We don’t like to think about persecution in any form, and it certainly seems unfair to suffer for doing right. Rejection, verbal abuse, jail, prison, beatings, and even death were the fates of many of the followers of Jesus Christ. Yet, they endured, just like Jesus did.

Jesus looked forward with joy to the glory set before Him as He endured the pain and the shame of crucifixion. Jesus suffered the punishment in hell, and He rose victorious over death itself to be seated at the right hand of the Father in heaven, now preparing a place for you to be with Him (John 14:2).

Be among those who are blessed and receive God’s covenant promises by believing what Jesus said in the Sermon on the Mount and applying the Word of God to your life. You can enjoy peace and prosperity in your life, enjoying the blessing of God and being a blessing to others!

You have authority on the earth! Given by God to mankind from the beginning (Genesis 1), your authority is not to rule over other people; instead, you are meant to have authority over every situation–physical, financial, emotional and spiritual–in your life. Most Christians do not boldly take their place in a position of authority because they don’t realize they have authority.

Develop a deeper understanding of authority with these 10 Scriptures About Authority, and build the confidence you need to operate in it every day, in every area of your life.

  1. “Then God said, ‘Let us make human beings in our image, to be like us. They will reign over the fish in the sea, the birds in the sky, the livestock, all the wild animals on the earth, and the small animals that scurry along the ground'” (Genesis 1:26).
  2. “And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth” (Genesis 1:28, KJV).
  3. “You gave them charge of everything you made, putting all things under their authority” (Psalm 8:6).
  4. “When the godly are in authority, the people rejoice. But when the wicked are in power, they groan” (Proverbs 29:2).
  5. “Jesus came and told his disciples, ‘I have been given all authority in heaven and on earth. Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the Name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit'” (Matthew 28:18-19).
  6. “Look, I have given you authority over all the power of the enemy, and you can walk among snakes and scorpions and crush them. Nothing will injure you” (Luke 10:19).
  7. “Through Christ, God has given us the privilege and authority as apostles to tell Gentiles everywhere what God has done for them, so that they will believe and obey him, bringing glory to his name” (Romans 1:5).
  8. “We know that the Messiah, having been raised from the dead, will never die again. Death no longer has any authority over him” (Romans 6:9, NTFE).
  9. “For sin will not have authority over you; because you are not under legalism but under grace” (Romans 6:14, CJB).
  10. “I also pray that you will understand the incredible greatness of God’s power for us who believe him. This is the same mighty power that raised Christ from the dead and seated him in the place of honor at God’s right hand in the heavenly realms. Now he is far above any ruler or authority or power or leader or anything else–not only in this world but also in the world to come” (Ephesians 1:19-21).

God has provided blessings for you in every area of your life. One way to access the blessings of God is through the tithe. The tithe refers to the first 10% of your income; it belongs to the Lord (Malachi 3:8). If you tithe in faith with a willing heart, God will generously bless your life.

Dive into these 10 Scriptures About Tithing to discover what God’s Word says about tithing, and develop your faith in the blessing of the tithe.

  1. “Honor the Lord with your wealth and with the best part of everything you produce. Then he will fill your barns with grain, and your vats will overflow with good wine” (Proverbs 3:9-10).
  2. “‘Bring all the tithes into the storehouse so there will be enough food in my Temple. If you do,’ says the LORD of Heaven’s Armies, ‘I will open the windows of heaven for you. I will pour out a blessing so great you won’t have enough room to take it in! Try it! Put me to the test! Your crops will be abundant, for I will guard them from insects and disease. Your grapes will not fall from the vine before they are ripe,’ says the LORD of Heaven’s Armies” (Malachi 3:10-11).
  3. “‘And now, O LORD, I have brought you the first portion of the harvest you have given me from the ground.’ Then place the produce before the LORD your God, and bow to the ground in worship before him. Afterward you may go and celebrate because of all the good things the LORD your God has given to you and your household” (Deuteronomy 26:10-11).
  4. “You must set aside a tithe of your crops–one-tenth of all the crops you harvest each year” (Deuteronomy 14:22).
  5. “Here mortal men receive tithes, but there He [Jesus] receives them, of whom it is witnessed that He lives” (Hebrews 7:8, NKJV).
  6. “And it is impossible to please God without faith. Anyone who wants to come to him must believe that God exists and that he rewards those who sincerely seek him” (Hebrews 11:6).
  7. “Give, and you will receive. Your gift will return to you in full–pressed down, shaken together to make room for more, running over, and poured into your lap. The amount you give will determine the amount you get back” (Luke 6:38).
  8. “You must each decide in your heart how much to give. And don’t give reluctantly or in response to pressure. ‘For God loves a person who gives cheerfully.’ And God will generously provide all you need. Then you will always have everything you need and plenty left over to share with others” (2 Corinthians 9:7-8).
  9. “And this same God who takes care of me will supply all your needs from his glorious riches, which have been given to us in Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:19).
  10. “And if God cares so wonderfully for wildflowers that are here today and thrown into the fire tomorrow, he will certainly care for you. Why do you have so little faith? So don’t worry about these things, saying, ‘What will we eat? What will we drink? What will we wear?’ These things dominate the thoughts of unbelievers, but your heavenly Father already knows all your needs. Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need” (Matthew 6:30-33).

Watch Gloria Copeland and Pastor George Pearsons teach on Tithing: Our Foundation for a Prosperous Life.

God reveals through these 10 Scriptures About Tithing that He loves you and wants to take care of you. He uses tithing as a door to bring you blessings, so get in on it today!

Oh, the all-too-familiar piercing Beep! and then sudden darkness as the power goes out. Power outages can bring your home, business, schedule and overall energy-driven lifestyle to a standstill.

So imagine: What was it like when Jesus was crucified and all that supernatural power that had so gloriously flowed through Him suddenly came to a stop? The Bible says the sun went dark for three hours (Matthew 27:45). All hope seemed lost. Three days later, however, that resurrection power was restored as Jesus came out of the tomb (Matthew 28:5-6). Once again, mankind was back online with its Creator–this time, like never before!

Today, thankfully, any loss of supernatural power in your life is never an issue with your “Service Provider” (God). The glitch is downline. You wrestle not against flesh and blood but against spiritual powers and authorities–evil spirits in a dark world (Ephesians 6:12). It’s Satan who’s trying to take out your supernature power grid–but you do get a say in the matter.

According to Ephesians 6, you can take your stand against all the strategies of the devil and Put On Your Armor and Access Resurrection Power in your life!

1.    The Belt of Truth: “And you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free” (John 8:32). Walking in the truth of God’s Word will keep you strong and free.

2.    The Breastplate of Righteousness: “For God made Christ, who never sinned, to be the offering for our sin, so that we could be made right with God through Christ” (2 Corinthians 5:21). Knowing that you are right with God through Jesus is protection for your heart.

3.    The Shoes of Peace: Like a good pair of shoes, peace keeps you firm-footed. Jesus said, “I am leaving you with a gift–peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don’t be troubled or afraid” (John 14:27).

4.    The Shield of Faith: Faith is a force field of protection that stops the fiery arrows of the devil. Galatians 2:20 says, “I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me” (NKJV).

5.    The Helmet of Salvation: When you were born again and gave your life to Christ, you were transferred out of the kingdom of darkness and into the kingdom of God. Your salvation includes being complete–nothing missing, nothing broken–in Christ. “And you are complete in Him, who is the head of all principality and power” (Colossians 2:10, NKJV).

6.    The Sword of the Spirit: The Sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God, “is alive and powerful. It is sharper than the sharpest two-edged sword, cutting between soul and spirit, between joint and marrow. It exposes our innermost thoughts and desires” (Hebrews 4:12).

7.    Prayer at All Times: Though not a piece of armor, continual prayer keeps the lines of communication between you and God open so you can hear clearly from Him. “Never stop praying. Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus” (1 Thessalonians 5:17-18).

You are instructed to “put on every piece of God’s armor so you will be able to resist the enemy in the time of evil. Then after the battle you will still be standing firm” (Ephesians 6:13).

Maybe you haven’t been using your spiritual armor in the fight of faith, and you feel defeated. Watch Jerry Savelle explain how you can use the armor of God to take a stand and take back everything the enemy has stolen from you!

When you Put On Your Armor and Access Resurrection Power, you ensure a steady flow of God’s power in and through your life. These pieces of spiritual armor are vital connectors to God, enabling you to stay grounded in God’s power–and never be left in the dark.

Dig into your spiritual roots and discover 8 Reasons Why the Passover Seder Matters to Christians.

There’s nothing quite like sitting down to a big meal with family or a gathering of close friends to celebrate a birthday, holiday or some other special event. Sitting around a table and sharing a meal–eating, laughing, telling stories, catching up–can bring you closer together and cause you to walk away feeling physically and emotionally full.

Throughout Scripture and history, however, no “family meal” has held more significance for as long as the Jewish Passover Seder–the meal God established more than 2300 years ago to commemorate His delivering the Israelites from their enslavement to Egypt. And it’s still around today! Just prior to Israel’s liberation and the first celebration of this meal, God told His people, “Each year, from generation to generation, you must celebrate it [the Passover meal] as a special festival to the LORD. This is a law for all time” (Exodus 12:14).

You can join with the Jewish people in celebrating the Passover Seder, which typically happens in the month of April. Here’s a list of 8 Reasons Why the Passover Seder Matters to Christians and is relevant to your faith today.

  1. The Passover meal required a lamb without spot or blemish to be slaughtered each year. Jesus is the Word of God that became flesh, lived on this earth and then became the Passover Lamb that was crucified, thereby taking away the sin of the world once and for all (Exodus 12:1-10; John 1:14, 29; Matthew 26:17-19, 26-28).
  2. The Passover meal commemorates Israel’s deliverance from enslavement to Pharaoh. Jesus is the Truth that delivers you from enslavement to sin (Exodus 13:8-10, 14-16; John 8:31-36).
  3. The Passover meal commemorates the blood of the lamb that caused death to pass over the Israelites (a one-time event). Jesus’ blood defeated death for all of eternity (Exodus 12:12-13; 1 Corinthians 15:54-57).
  4. The Passover meal required Israel’s households to be purged of all leaven. Jesus delivers your hearts from all wickedness (Exodus 12:17-20; 1 Corinthians 5:6-8; 1 John 1:9).
  5. The Passover meal included bitter herbs as a reminder of the bitterness of slavery the Israelites had suffered. You now live under the freedom of God’s grace and are slaves to God and to righteousness (Exodus 12:8; Romans 6:6-22).
  6. The Passover required the Israelites to smear lamb’s blood around their doors. Jesus, the Lamb of God, stands at the door to your heart and knocks, announcing that today is the day of your salvation (Exodus 12:6-7, 12-13; Revelation 3:20; 2 Corinthians 6:1-2).
  7. The Passover meal required the Israelites to wash their hands before taking part in the ceremonial food at the table. Jesus makes you clean (holy) by washing you with the water of God’s Word (John 11:55; Mark 7:1-4; Ephesians 5:25-27).
  8. It was the custom of royalty to recline at their meals, so the Israelites began reclining during the Passover meal to demonstrate their freedom. Jesus invites you to recline at the table with Him, to celebrate and partake of a feast of freedom, casting all your care on Him (Luke 22:14-16; 1 Peter 5:6-7).

To experience all the activities of the Passover Seder and its profound meaning, you can watch and participate in the feast with Pastors George and Terri Pearsons and their guests at Eagle Mountain International Church.

As the true Passover Lamb, Jesus was not keeping tradition alive for tradition’s sake. He brought Old Covenant teachings and requirements–like the Passover Seder–into fulfillment. And He did it for your sake!

God spent thousands of years preparing a table of freedom and blessing for His people to enjoy. Dig into your spiritual roots with these 8 Reasons Why the Passover Seder Matters to Christians and allow it to enrich your heritage of faith!

God, being the loving and generous Father He is, wants the best for us. He’s an over-the-top God, especially when it comes to His children. Scripture tells us that when David became king, he was immediately challenged by Israel’s longtime enemy, the Philistines. So he went to God for direction–and did God stand by and wait to see how things would play out, hoping His people would get by? Not according to David’s account! ‘”The LORD did it!’ David exclaimed. ‘He burst through my enemies like a raging flood!'” (2 Samuel 5:20).

To honor God’s intervention and overwhelming victory that day, David named the place Baal-perazim, which means “Lord of breaking through.”

What is it that you’re needing your “Lord of the Breakthrough” to show up and do on your behalf?

Consider these 20 Breakthrough Scriptures To Stand On and let them encourage your faith.

  1. “Do not be afraid! Don’t be discouraged by this mighty army, for the battle is not yours, but God’s” (2 Chronicles 20:15).
  2. “But you will not even need to fight. Take your positions; then stand still and watch the LORD’s victory. He is with you, O people of Judah and Jerusalem. Do not be afraid or discouraged. Go out against them tomorrow, for the LORD is with you!” (2 Chronicles 20:17),
  3. “Trust in the LORD with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take” (Proverbs 3:5-6).
  4. “I will give him the key to the house of David–the highest position in the royal court. When he opens doors, no one will be able to close them; when he closes doors, no one will be able to open them” (Isaiah 22:22).
  5. “But those who trust in the LORD will find new strength. They will soar high on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not faint” (Isaiah 40:31).
  6. “Behold, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs forth; do you not perceive and know it and will you not give heed to it? I will even make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert” (Isaiah 43:19, AMPC).
  7. “I will go before you and level the mountains [to make the crooked places straight]; I will break in pieces the doors of bronze and cut asunder the bars of iron” (Isaiah 45:2, AMPC).
  8. ‘”For I know the plans I have for you,’ says the LORD. ‘They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope'” (Jeremiah 29:11).
  9. “Ask me and I will tell you remarkable secrets you do not know about things to come” (Jeremiah 33:3).
  10. “This vision is for a future time. It describes the end, and it will be fulfilled. If it seems slow in coming, wait patiently, for it will surely take place. It will not be delayed” (Habakkuk 2:3).
  11. “Keep on asking, and you will receive what you ask for. Keep on seeking, and you will find. Keep on knocking, and the door will be opened to you” (Matthew 7:7).
  12. “You can pray for anything, and if you have faith, you will receive it” (Matthew 21:22).
  13. “I tell you, you can pray for anything, and if you believe that you’ve received it, it will be yours” (Mark 11:24).
  14. “No, despite all these things, overwhelming victory is ours through Christ, who loved us” (Romans 8:37).
  15. “And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them” (Romans 8:28).
  16. “But thank God! He gives us victory over sin and death through our Lord Jesus Christ” (1 Corinthians 15:57).
  17. “So let’s not get tired of doing what is good. At just the right time we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don’t give up” (Galatians 6:9).
  18. “Now all glory to God, who is able, through his mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think” (Ephesians 3:20).
  19. “If you need wisdom, ask our generous God, and he will give it to you” (James 1:5).
  20. “I know all the things you do, and I have opened a door for you that no one can close. You have little strength, yet you obeyed my word and did not deny me” (Revelation 3:8).

Did you know that you can and should live a life free from fear? Fear is a tool the enemy uses to control, intimidate and paralyze the believer. He fosters worry, dread and fear through any means he can. However, the New Testament alone has over a hundred references to the Lord expressly saying that His people should NOT be fearful. The King James Version often says, “Fear not” or “do not be afraid,” while other versions say, “Do not be anxious” or “do not worry or fret.”

When you asked Jesus into your heart, His perfect love cast fear out. “There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment. He who fears has not been made perfect in love” 1 John 4:18 (NKJV). The word perfect in that verse indicates someone who is mature or developed. The moment you accept Christ, your spirit is made new and free from fear; but as with all things in your spiritual life, your mind must be renewed according to the Word.

Your goal should be to completely eradicate fear from your life. Can you imagine living a fear-free life? Nothing would be able to move you, shake you, intimidate you, paralyze you, throw you into a state of panic, or cause you anguish or stress. That life is absolutely possible. You were meant to live “without being frightened in any way by those who oppose you” (Philippians 1:28, NIV).

You Are Redeemed From Fear

You need to identify fear in your life because you have been redeemed from it. “Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree: that the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Christ Jesus; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith” (Galations 3:13-14, KJV).

Take time to ask the Lord what fears you are dealing with. Once the Holy Spirit has identified those fears, you have something to work with. You can begin to eliminate them from your life. Faith is acting on the truth that God is bigger than Satan. Faith produces the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus. You have the ability to drive fear out of your life by feeding your thought life with what the Word of God says about each fear you have identified. Find those scriptures that speak to the fears you are overcoming. Remember, Psalm 34:4 (NKJV) says, “I sought the LORD, and He heard me, and delivered me from all my fears.”

You Have Authority Over Fear

Once you have taken the time to listen to the Lord and His direction, it is time to take your authority once and for all over EVERY fear. Our foundation of faith comes from hearing the Word, receiving it into our hearts and minds, and then acting on it by saying it and integrating it into our daily lives. That daily life integration must include adopting a zero-tolerance policy toward fear. No teaching people to be fearful, no playing games to scare people, no dreading upcoming situations or events. Absolutely zero tolerance! Make the decision to obey every single biblical command to fear not. Take charge of your mind and exercise your God-given authority.

My Declaration of Freedom From Fear

I declare today:

  • I am free from fear.
  • I refuse to fear any longer.
  • I am delivered from ALL fear.
  • Jesus defeated the fear of death.
  • Therefore, I am redeemed from the curse of fear.
  • I have a zero-tolerance policy where fear is concerned.
  • NO FEAR HERE!
  • NO MORE FEAR!
  • I obey the command to FEAR NOT.

As you do this, you will walk out your Freedom From Fear!

When Moses died and Joshua was faced with the responsibility of leading the children of Israel into the Promised Land, he was dealing with fear. In response, the Lord told him to be strong and courageous…three times…for reasons that still work in our lives today. It’s one of the most powerful Scriptures That Prove the Word Changes Things. The Lord said:

The time has come for you to lead these people, the Israelites, across the Jordan River into the land I am giving them. I promise you what I promised Moses: “Wherever you set foot, you will be on land I have given you…. No one will be able to stand against you as long as you live. For I will be with you as I was with Moses. I will not fail you or abandon you.

Be strong and courageous, for you are the one who will lead these people to possess all the land I swore to their ancestors I would give them.

Be strong and very courageous. Be careful to obey all the instructions Moses gave you. Do not deviate from them, turning either to the right or to the left. Then you will be successful in everything you do. Study this Book of Instruction continually. Meditate on it day and night so you will be sure to obey everything written in it. Only then will you prosper and succeed in all you do.

This is my command–be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid or discouraged. For the LORD your God is with you wherever you go (Joshua 1:2-9).

We know from the rest of the story that Joshua did indeed lead the children into the Promised Land. The Word worked. It changed things in Joshua. He overcome the fear coming against him by studying God’s Word, by meditating on it day and night, by activating the principle of total immersion–a principle whereby we saturate ourselves with concentrated times in the Word of God. Kenneth Copeland has taught this principle for years and you can read more about how to Activate the Principle of Total Immersion here. It’s a process that helps us renew our minds quickly to the Word of God–a process you want to apply in your life–so the Word can go to work and change what needs to be changed in your life (Romans 12:2).

This is what Joshua did–and he went from being afraid of the assignment God had for him, to successfully leading a powerful nation of millions of people!

What Is It That You Need To Change?

Are you afraid like Joshua? Do you need healing in your body? Are you desperate for increase financially? Then immerse yourself in the Word, and watch it change you and your world. Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God (Romans 10:17). It’s when we hear the Word over and over that faith comes. Faith develops. Faith grows. Faith is activated. That’s how the Word changes whatever we need changing in our lives.

Another one of the most powerful Scriptures That Prove the Word Changes Things is found in Acts 14:1-10. A man immersed himself in Paul’s teaching sessions–and hearing the Word caused faith to rise up in him rapidly. He had been lame from birth, so he had never walked, and yet, by listening to Paul preach and teach the Word of God, faith came.

Verse 3, describing Paul and the disciples, says, “Therefore they stayed there a long time, speaking boldly in the Lord, who was bearing witness to the word of His grace, granting signs and wonders to be done by their hands” (NKJV).

Then they moved on to Lystra and Derbe and the surrounding region, where they continued “preaching the gospel there” (verses 6-7, NKJV).

And verses 8-10 show us the results the man received from activating the principle of immersion in his life. He experienced change! “And in Lystra a certain man without strength in his feet was sitting, a cripple from his mother’s womb, who had never walked. This man heard Paul speaking. Paul, observing him intently and seeing that he had faith to be healed, said with a loud voice, ‘Stand up straight on your feet!’ And he leaped and walked” (NKJV).

This man heard Paul speaking, and faith developed in him quickly–to the point Paul saw that the man had the faith to be healed–after having never walked! Can you imagine the ligaments, joints, tendons and muscles that had to be changed for that man to walk? They had to be brought to life and rejuvenated. They had to support him the moment he stood for the first time. The Word did all that! Quickly!

What Is It That You’re Believing For?

If you want your faith to increase, if you want your capacity for faith to increase, then immerse yourself in the Word of God. The Southwest Believers’ Convention is in Fort Worth, July 29-Aug. 3. Make a list of what you’re believing for. Then attend in person or online and watch your faith grow rapidly. Watch it bring the results you need and want.

This meeting was created decades ago because Kenneth Copeland learned firsthand the power of the Word to change things in his life when he was a student at ORU in 1967. Through his own experience testing the principle of total immersion in the Word, spending days in his garage with the Word, he began weeklong meetings to help other believers encourage their faith and receive what God had for them–and at a rate that was faster because of it.

The Word changes things. Make time to allow it to change things in your life today.

God has promised us in His Word that whatever we ask in prayer, if we believe, we will have what we ask (Mark 11:24). But long before God promised to answer our prayers, He had already been answering the prayers of His people for thousands of years. From Moses to Hannah to Elijah to Jesus and the Church, God is faithful to hear our prayers and respond to our heart’s cry. To show you this pattern of God’s faithfulness in the Word, consider these 20 Scriptures That PROVE Prayer Works.

  1. When Moses asked God if he could see Him up close, God showed Moses His glory. “Look, stand near me on this rock. As my glorious presence passes by, I will hide you in the crevice of the rock and cover you with my hand until I have passed by. Then I will remove my hand and let you see me from behind. But my face will not be seen” (Exodus 33:21-23).
  2. When God gave Joshua and the Israelites victory over the Amorites, Joshua prayed for the sun and the moon to stand still so they could continue fighting and win, and God did what Joshua asked. “On the day the LORD gave the Israelites victory over the Amorites, Joshua prayed to the LORD in front of all the people of Israel. He said, ‘Let the sun stand still over Gibeon, and the moon over the valley of Aijalon.’ So the sun stood still and the moon stayed in place until the nation of Israel had defeated its enemies” (Joshua 10:12-13)
  3. When Hannah prayed for a son, God gave her Samuel. “O LORD of Heaven’s Armies, if you will look upon my sorrow and answer my prayer and give me a son, then I will give him back to you. He will be yours for his entire lifetime, and as a sign that he has been dedicated to the Lord, his hair will never be cut” (1 Samuel 1:11). What’s more, God went on to give her more than she asked. He gave her three more sons and two daughters!
  4. When God told Solomon in a dream to ask for anything, Solomon asked for wisdom, and God gave it to him. “‘Give your servant therefore an understanding mind to govern your people, that I may discern between good and evil, for who is able to govern this your great people?’ It pleased the Lord that Solomon had asked this. And God said to him, ‘Because you have asked this, and have not asked for yourself long life or riches or the life of your enemies, but have asked for yourself understanding to discern what is right, behold, I now do according to your word. Behold, I give you a wise and discerning mind, so that none like you has been before you and none like you shall arise after you. I give you also what you have not asked, both riches and honor, so that no other king shall compare with you, all your days. And if you will walk in my ways, keeping my statutes and my commandments, as your father David walked, then I will lengthen your days” (1 Kings 3:9-14. ESV).
  5. When the widow of Zarephath asked Elijah to save her son, Elijah prayed, and God spared the boy’s life. “Then Elijah cried out to the LORD, ‘O LORD my God, why have you brought tragedy to this widow who has opened her home to me, causing her son to die?’ And he stretched himself out over the child three times and cried out to the LORD, ‘O LORD my God, please let this child’s life return to him.’ The LORD heard Elijah’s prayer, and the life of the child returned, and he revived!” (1 Kings 17:20-22).
  6. When Elisha and his servant were surrounded by the enemy, Elisha prayed for his servant’s eyes to be opened to see into the spirit realm, and God opened his eyes. “The LORD opened the young man’s eyes, and when he looked up, he saw that the hillside around Elisha was filled with horses and chariots of fire” (2 Kings 6:17).
  7. Then, when Elisha prayed for God to blind the eyes of the enemy army, God did. “As the Aramean army advanced toward him, Elisha prayed, ‘O LORD, please make them blind.’ So the LORD struck them with blindness as Elisha had asked” (2 Kings 6:18).
  8. Then, Elisha led the blind army to Samaria, and he prayed again, this time for their eyes to be opened, and God opened their eyes. “As soon as they had entered Samaria, Elisha prayed, ‘O LORD, now open their eyes and let them see.’ So the LORD opened their eyes, and they discovered that they were in the middle of Samaria” (2 Kings 6:20).
  9. When Jerusalem was under siege, King Hezekiah prayed for his people to be saved and God heard him–and God sent an angel to fight for them. “That night the angel of the LORD went out to the Assyrian camp and killed 185,000 Assyrian soldiers. When the surviving Assyrians woke up the next morning, they found corpses everywhere. Then King Sennacherib of Assyria broke camp and returned to his own land. He went home to his capital of Nineveh and stayed there” (2 Kings 19:35-36).
  10. When King Hezekiah lay dying, he prayed to live, and God gave him another 15 years. “I have heard your prayer and seen your tears. I will heal you, and three days from now you will get out of bed and go to the Temple of the LORD. I will add fifteen years to your life, and I will rescue you and this city from the king of Assyria. I will defend this city for my own honor and for the sake of my servant David” (2 Kings 20:5-6).
  11. When Jabez prayed for God to bless him, God granted his request. “He [Jabez] was the one who prayed to the God of Israel, ‘Oh, that you would bless me and expand my territory! Please be with me in all that I do, and keep me from all trouble and pain!’ And God granted him his request” (1 Chronicles 4:10).
  12. When Esther prayed for courage, God empowered her to save her people. “When Esther sent this reply to Mordecai: ‘Go and gather together all the Jews of Susa and fast for me. Do not eat or drink for three days, night or day. My maids and I will do the same. And then, though it is against the law, I will go in to see the king'” (Esther 4:16).
  13. When Daniel needed the interpretation to King Nebuchadnezzar’s dream, he and his friends prayed, and God gave Daniel the interpretation. “Then Daniel went home and told his friends Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah what had happened. He urged them to ask the God of heaven to show them his mercy by telling them the secret, so they would not be executed along with the other wise men of Babylon. That night the secret was revealed to Daniel in a vision” (Daniel 2:17-19).
  14. When Habakkuk prayed for revival, God answered his prayer. “Then the LORD said to me, ‘Write my answer plainly on tablets, so that a runner can carry the correct message to others. This vision is for a future time. It describes the end, and it will be fulfilled. If it seems slow in coming, wait patiently, for it will surely take place. It will not be delayed”‘ (Habakkuk 2:2-3).
  15. When Jairus’ daughter was dying, he asked Jesus to come and lay hands on her, and when Jesus arrived, she had died–and He raised her from the dead. “Holding her hand, he said to her, ‘Talitha koum,” which means ‘Little girl, get up!’ And the girl, who was twelve years old, immediately stood up and walked around! They were overwhelmed and totally amazed” (Mark 5:41-42).
  16. When the Gentile woman born in Syrian Phoenicia asked Jesus to heal her daughter who was possessed by a demon, Jesus answered her prayer. “‘Now go home, for the demon has left your daughter.’ And when she arrived home, she found her little girl lying quietly in bed, and the demon was gone” (Mark 7:29-30).
  17. On the night of His betrayal, when Jesus prayed in the Garden of Gethsemane for the will of God to be done, God sent an angel to strengthen Him. “‘Father, if you are willing, please take this cup of suffering away from me. Yet I want your will to be done, not mine.’ Then an angel from heaven appeared and strengthened him. He prayed more fervently, and he was in such agony of spirit that his sweat fell to the ground like great drops of blood” (Luke 22:42-44).
  18. When Jesus was on the cross, the thief asked Him for forgiveness, and Jesus granted him his request. “‘Jesus, remember me when you come into your Kingdom.’ And Jesus replied, ‘I assure you, today you will be with me in paradise'” (Luke 23:42-43).
  19. When Peter and John were arrested together and freed, the Church prayed for courage, and God gave them boldness. “‘And now, O Lord, hear their threats, and give us, your servants, great boldness in preaching your word. Stretch out your hand with healing power; may miraculous signs and wonders be done through the name of your holy servant Jesus.’ After this prayer, the meeting place shook, and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit. Then they preached the word of God with boldness” (Acts 4:29-31).
  20. When the Church gathered and prayed for Peter’s release from prison, God sent an angel. “Suddenly, there was a bright light in the cell, and an angel of the Lord stood before Peter. The angel struck him on the side to awaken him and said, ‘Quick! Get up!’ And the chains fell off his wrists. Then the angel told him, ‘Get dressed and put on your sandals.’ And he did. ‘Now put on your coat and follow me,’ the angel ordered” (Acts 12:7-9).

What is it that you need? Pray, because prayer works. “Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done” (Philippians 4:6).

God is Love, He loves you, and He is always for you (1 John 4:16; Romans 5:8, 8:31). He’s good and He’s always working to get more of His goodness to you (Psalms 100:5; Romans 8:28). What’s more, the way we receive all that He has for us is by faith–by the faith He’s given to us (Romans 12:3). “I tell you,” Jesus said, “You can pray for anything, and if you believe that you’ve received it, it will be yours” (Mark 11:24).

And yet, all too often, we forget all this and lean into our own strength–into our own willpower. We stop having faith in Love and begin to mentally believe–which is tapping into the power of our souls. God wants us to tap into His power. He wants us to accept His will and put our will in subjection to His. That’s when we’ll walk in the fulness of His strength and not our own.

If you’ve been praying and asking God to know His will, consider these scriptures that showcase God’s Loving Will for You…because knowing His will is not something God wants to keep a secret from us. “You will show me the path of life; in Your presence is fullness of joy, at Your right hand there are pleasures forevermore” (Psalms 16:11).

  1. It’s God’s will that you love God with all your being. “Jesus replied, ‘You must love the LORD your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind'” (Matthew 22:37).
  2. It’s God’s will that you love others. “Love your neighbor as yourself” (Mark 12:31).
  3. It’s God’s will that you be well. “He personally carried our sins in his body on the cross so that we can be dead to sin and live for what is right. By his wounds you are healed” (1 Peter 2:24)
  4. It’s God’s will that you prosper–spirt, soul and body. “Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers” (3 John 2, NKJV).
  5. It’s God’s will that everything you put your hand to prospers. “…Obey the LORD and keep all his commands that I am giving you today. The LORD your God will then make you successful in everything you do” (Deuteronomy 30:8-9).
  6. It’s God’s will that you lack no good thing. “Fear the Lord, you his godly people, for those who fear him will have all they need. Even strong young lions sometimes go hungry, but those who trust in the LORD will lack no good thing” (Psalms 34:9-10).
  7. It’s God’s will that you walk in love. “Live a life filled with love, following the example of Christ. He loved us and offered himself as a sacrifice for us, a pleasing aroma to God” (Ephesians 5:2).
  8. It’s God’s will that you flourish in the fruit of the spirit. “But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control” (Galatians 5:22-23).
  9. It’s God’s will that you be tenderhearted. “Be kind to each other, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, just as God through Christ has forgiven you” (Ephesians 4:32).
  10. It’s God’s will that you walk in unity. “Lead a life worthy of your calling, for you have been called by God. Always be humble and gentle. Be patient with each other, making allowance for each other’s faults because of your love. Make every effort to keep yourselves united in the Spirit, binding yourselves together with peace. For there is one body and one Spirit, just as you have been called to one glorious hope for the future” (Ephesians 4:1-4).
  11. It’s God’s will that you walk free from sin. “Now you are free from your slavery to sin, and you have become slaves to righteous living” (Romans 6:18).
  12. It’s God’s will that you freely forgive. “Make allowance for each other’s faults, and forgive anyone who offends you. Remember, the Lord forgave you, so you must forgive others” (Colossians 3:13).
  13. It’s God’s will that you gather with other believers. “And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another, especially now that the day of his return is drawing near” (Hebrews 10:25).
  14. It’s God’s will that you have all the wisdom, knowledge and understanding you need. “So we have not stopped praying for you since we first heard about you. We ask God to give you complete knowledge of his will and to give you spiritual wisdom and understanding” (Colossians 1:9).
  15. It’s God’s will that you continue growing and mature in Christ. “So let us stop going over the basic teachings about Christ again and again. Let us go on instead and become mature in our understanding. Surely we don’t need to start again with the fundamental importance of repenting from evil deeds and placing our faith in God” (Hebrews 6:1).
  16. It’s God’s will that you be baptized in His Spirit. “He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and with fire” (Matthew 3:11).
  17. It’s God’s will that you live a long full life. “I will reward them with a long life
and give them my salvation” (Psalm 91:16).
  18. It’s God’s will that you be strengthened spiritually. “The LORD is my strength and shield. I trust him with all my heart. He helps me, and my heart is filled with joy. I burst out in songs of thanksgiving. The LORD gives his people strength. He is a safe fortress for his anointed king” (Psalms 28:7-8).
  19. It’s God’s will that you walk in His truth. “I could have no greater joy than to hear that my children are following the truth” (3 John 1:4).
  20. It’s God’s will that you trust in His love. “We know how much God loves us, and we have put our trust in his love. God is love, and all who live in love live in God, and God lives in them” (1 John 4:16).

God loves you! And His love for you is everlasting (Jeremiah 31:3). Therefore, there’s nothing you can do to stop Him from loving you. Romans 8:35-29 says:

“Can anything ever separate us from Christ’s love? Does it mean he no longer loves us if we have trouble or calamity, or are persecuted, or hungry, or destitute, or in danger, or threatened with death? (As the Scriptures say, ‘For your sake we are killed every day; we are being slaughtered like sheep.’) No, despite all these things, overwhelming victory is ours through Christ, who loved us.

And yet, if we’re honest with ourselves, sometimes it’s hard to comprehend God’s everlasting, endless, unconditional love for us, isn’t it? It’s hard to comprehend that no sin, no past mistake, no present issue can separate us from Him. That’s why we need to renew our hearts and minds daily to the truth that He loves us completely and unconditionally. We need to build our trust in His love continually.

To help you, consider these 20 Confessions To Build Your Trust In God’s Love.

If we walk with Jesus, daily, then He blesses us daily. And He blesses us daily for a purpose–so we can then BLESS others. What we need to learn is how to recognize the BLESSINGS we have, and who God wants us to share them with–and why.

Such was the case one day, when Jesus walked this earth, He was leaving Jerusalem, when a man came running up to Him and asked, “Good Teacher, what must I do to inherit eternal life?” (Mark 10:17).

Jesus answered him saying, “Why do you call me good?…Only God is truly good. But to answer your question, you know the commandments: ‘You must not murder. You must not commit adultery. You must not steal. You must not testify falsely. You must not cheat anyone. Honor your father and mother'” (Mark 10:18-19)

“‘Teacher,’ the man replied, ‘I’ve obeyed all these commandments since I was young'” (Mark 10:20).

Looking at the man, Jesus felt genuine love for him. “‘There is still one thing you haven’t done,’ he told him. ‘Go and sell all your possessions and give the money to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me'” (Mark 10:21).

It was then that the man’s face fell, and he went away sad, for he had many possessions.

You may recognize this story, as we often refer to the man as the Rich Young Ruler. It’s an important story because there is so much for us to learn from it.

We Need To Hear What God Wants Us To Give–And Understand Why

First, Jesus loved the man, and how could He not? Jesus is God and God is good (1 Chronicles 16:34; Psalm 25;8; 34:8; 145:9). He’s God manifested in the flesh, and He is Love (1 John 4:16). But the Word in Mark 10:21 makes a point about the look of love that Jesus gave the man. Beholding the man, the KJV says, Jesus loved him.

Second, it was after Jesus looked at him with the look of love that Jesus said for him to go and sell all his possessions and give the money to the poor, and he would have treasure in heaven.

Third, then Jesus invited the man to come and follow Him.

We Need To Listen for as Long as It Takes To Know

But the man didn’t hang around long enough to grasp the full meaning of what Jesus was saying. He considered it a loss to sell what he had and give. He was so hung up on his wealth and being asked to sell it and give it to the poor that he left. He didn’t stay around long enough to get the answer to his original question, “Good Teacher, what must I do to inherit eternal life?” (Mark 10:17).

We all know we don’t have to sell what we have in order to gain eternal life. That’s not what Jesus was saying. To have eternal life, all we have to do is give our hearts to Jesus–to make Him the Lord of our lives. And therein was the issue. Jesus loved the man and wanted his heart–but the man didn’t understand that the way to give his heart was to give up what had a hold of his heart–and in his case, it was his wealth.

Why God Wants Us To Give Our All

What is it that God is asking you to give? Particularly, what is He asking you to give that you don’t want to give. God wants us all giving continually so the BLESSINGS in our lives don’t become what we don’t want to let go–so the BLESSINGS in our lives don’t stop being BLESSINGS. He wants us to give out of our resources–and that’s not limited to our money. He wants us to give out of our time, talent and treasure. Sometimes, it’s easier to give money than to give of ourselves, but Jesus wants us giving our all.

What Is It That God’s Asking You To Give?

Your time–to check in on a neighbor or drive a friend to an appointment.
Your strength–to share your story of a similar experience to encourage someone’s faith.
Your attention–to listen with an understanding heart and say nothing.
Your skill–to help someone build a budget or learn to cook.
Your talent–to help someone learn to play an instrument.
Your story–so someone else can know Jesus.
Your love–so someone else can feel what it is to be loved.
Your forgiveness–so you both can be free.
Your prayers–because every healing, miracle and breakthrough starts with prayer.

Don’t be like the Rich Young Ruler and hold on to what isn’t eternal. Give God your heart–your all–and be willing to share it with others. Give more than your money; give out of all that you have.

Give out of your kitchen cabinets, your packed closets and your overflowing garage. Give out of your knowledge, wisdom and spiritual maturity.

Give out of a compassionate heart–because we all started somewhere, and we’ve all been there.

Give out of your passion for one more soul to know Jesus.

Never let a day go by that you don’t give something to someone, because there’s always Ways To Share God’s BLESSINGS.

When the children of Israel had been in the wilderness for 40 years, long after they had left Egypt for the Promised Land, God gave Moses two lists. One was THE BLESSING of obedience (Deuteronomy 28:1-14), and one was the curses of disobedience (Deuteronomy 28:15-68). Because of what Jesus bought and paid for us with His blood, THE BLESSING of obedience is ours–as well as everything else in the Word of God–when we receive it by faith.

Moses told the people, “If you fully obey the LORD your God and carefully keep all his commands that I am giving you today, the LORD your God will set you high above all the nations of the world. You will experience all these blessings if you obey the LORD your God” (verses 1-2).

Anywhere we see God’s promises for our well-being in His Word, they are ours to receive. And throughout the Word, there are multitudes of promises covering our spiritual lives, health, resources, relationships and future. In other words, there are blessings we can all be walking in if we will receive them by faith.

Consider the following Scriptures. The first group is part of what Moses read to the Israelites in Deuteronomy 28. The second group is from other places in God’s Word. Meditate on them all until you know that you know You Are Blessed! Declare them over your life by faith and watch them come to pass.

Blessings From Deuteronomy 28…

  1. “Your towns and your fields will be blessed” (verse 3).
  2. “Your children and your crops will be blessed. The offspring of your herds and flocks will be blessed” (verse 4).
  3. “Your fruit baskets and breadboards will be blessed” (verse 5).
  4. “Wherever you go and whatever you do, you will be blessed” (verse 6).
  5.  “The LORD will conquer your enemies when they attack you. They will attack you from one direction, but they will scatter from you in seven!” (verse 7).
  6. “The LORD will guarantee a blessing on everything you do and will fill your storehouses with grain. The LORD your God will bless you in the land He is giving you” (verse 8).
  7. “If you obey the commands of the LORD your God and walk in his ways, the LORD will establish you as his holy people as he swore he would do. Then all the nations of the world will see that you are a people claimed by the LORD, and they will stand in awe of you” (verses 9-10).
  8. “The LORD will give you prosperity in the land He swore to your ancestors to give you, blessing you with many children, numerous livestock, and abundant crops” (verse 11).
  9. “The LORD will send rain at the proper time from His rich treasury in the heavens and will bless all the work you do. You will lend to many nations, but you will never need to borrow from them” (verse 12).
  10.  “If you listen to these commands of the LORD your God that I am giving you today, and if you carefully obey them, the LORD will make you the head and not the tail, and you will always be on top and never at the bottom” (verse 13).

More Blessings Promised to Us In the Word of God…

  1.  “Give, and you will receive. Your gift will return to you in full–pressed down, shaken together to make room for more, running over, and poured into your lap. The amount you give will determine the amount you get back” (Luke 6:38).
  2. Don’t be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be discouraged, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you. I will hold you up with my victorious right hand” (Isaiah 41:10).
  3. “And this same God who takes care of me will supply all your needs from his glorious riches, which have been given to us in Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:19).
  4. “All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realms because we are united with Christ” (Ephesians 1:3).
  5. “Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need” (Matthew 6:33).
  6. “Now all glory to God, who is able, through his mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think” (Ephesians 3:20).

Since before the foundation of the world, God has wanted to be in covenant with each and every one of us. It is His will that everyone be saved, that everyone of us make Jesus the Lord of our lives. In one of his letters to Timothy, Paul said, “This is good and pleases God our Savior, who wants everyone to be saved and to understand the truth” (1 Timothy 2:3-4). It is because of this that God reaches out for us and draws us to Himself continually–but not just until we are saved. He doesn’t stop there. Through the ongoing work of the Holy Spirit, God longs to be in fellowship with us daily, to be communing with us continually, to be leading and guiding us into all truth, to be showering us with THE BLESSING, and all that is rightfully ours because of our covenant partnership with Him (John 16:13).

If you’re not sure what all is rightfully yours because of covenant, consider the following 10 Benefits of God’s Partnership Covenant With Us. There are even more, of course, because God’s BLESSINGS are endless, but these 10 will help you realize how He cares about every area of your life.

Healing

“Let all that I am praise the Lord; with my whole heart, I will praise his holy name. Let all that I am praise the Lord; may I never forget the good things he does for me. He forgives all my sins and heals all my diseases. He redeems me from death and crowns me with love and tender mercies. He fills my life with good things. My youth is renewed like the eagle’s!” (Psalm 103:1-5).

Hope

“But those who wait for the Lord [who expect, look for, and hope in Him] shall change and renew their strength and power; they shall lift their wings and mount up [close to God] as eagles [mount up to the sun]; they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint or become tired” (Isaiah 40:31, AMPC).

Faith

“So faith comes from hearing, that is, hearing the Good News about Christ” (Romans 10:17).

Love

“Dear friends, let us continue to love one another, for love comes from God. Anyone who loves is a child of God and knows God. But anyone who does not love does not know God, for God is love” (1 John 4:7-8).

Prosperity

“And this same God who takes care of me will supply all your needs from his glorious riches, which have been given to us in Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:19).

Faithfulness

“The faithful love of the LORD never ends!  His mercies never cease. Great is his faithfulness; his mercies begin afresh each morning” (Lamentations 3:22-23).

Favor

“And let the beauty and delightfulness and favor of the Lord our God be upon us; confirm and establish the work of our hands–yes, the work of our hands, confirm and establish it” (Psalm 90:17, AMPC).

Freedom From Fear

“For God did not give us a spirit of timidity (of cowardice, of craven and cringing and fawning fear), but [He has given us a spirit] of power and of love and of calm and well-balanced mind and discipline and self-control” (2 Timothy 1:7, AMPC).

Peace

“Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:7).

Endless Blessings

“And God is able to make all grace (every favor and earthly blessing) come to you in abundance, so that you may always and under all circumstances and whatever the need be self-sufficient [possessing enough to require no aid or support and furnished in abundance for every good work and charitable donation]. As it is written, He [the benevolent person] scatters abroad; He gives to the poor; His deeds of justice and goodness and kindness and benevolence will go on and endure forever! And [God] Who provides seed for the sower and bread for eating will also provide and multiply your [resources for] sowing and increase the fruits of your righteousness [which manifests itself in active goodness, kindness, and charity]” (2 Corinthians 9:8-10, AMPC).

“Our greatest days of ministry lie ahead as we minister alongside one another in this glorious partnership exchange!” -Kenneth Copeland

What Is Partnership?

It’s more than giving and sowing. It’s more than prayer. It’s a covenant–a joining together in faith. It’s being a part of something bigger than yourself.  More than that–it’s POWER!

It may seem like a foreign idea to you–having a hand in what a large, global ministry is accomplishing. Partnership reaches far beyond just you and KCM. It reaches the people of our world with the good news of THE BLESSING.

But, this idea of partnership is nothing new. God called people alongside Jesus to be His partners–His disciples, the apostles. They walked with Him. They witnessed victory after victory in the lives of people while ministering alongside Him. When the Apostle Paul was sent on his mission by Jesus, he, too, partnered with people in every town to which the Lord sent him.

Before KCM ever believed God for men and women who would be Partners in ministry, God asked Kenneth and Gloria Copeland to commit to three things:

  1. Never ask a man for a place to preach
  2. Never ask people for money to get the ministry by
  3. Never preach anywhere based on a financial agreement.

Through the revelation of partnership, KCM itself sows into other ministries. God revealed in His Word a relationship is established in giving–a relationship that directly links the giver to the gifts He pours out on men and women of ministry.

A Spiritual Gold Mine

Do you need greater faith? More anointing? Increase? The power of Partnership is greater than anything you have ever imagined. It’s a spiritual gold mine.

Partnership gives you access to the giftings, anointings and revelations of other ministers. And–it gets what you need into your hands. How? In these three simple ways:

1. Sowing and Reaping

When you partner with a ministry, you are sowing into the plans and purposes of God through those He has anointed. This transfers back to the sower in the form of both a personal and a kingdom-wide harvest.

Let’s look at a very familiar verse in Galatians. Verse 7 says, “Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows” (NIV).

When we sow seeds of faith into good soil, they always produce a harvest.

 2. A Prophet’s Reward

“If you receive a prophet as one who speaks for God, you will be given the same reward as a prophet” (Matthew 10:41).

God began partnerships in the Old Testament and continued in the New. He designed this system to dramatically increase the abilities, resources and rewards of every believer.

Even if you aren’t on the front lines of the fivefold ministry–apostle, prophet, evangelist, pastor or teacher–if you’re in partnership with someone who is, you receive the same eternal reward for every person who is born again, strengthened, healed or delivered!

But, it doesn’t stop there! Partnership is one of God’s ways of providing blessings for us here and now. When we follow the leadership of the Holy Spirit and come together in partnership as He directs, we’ll all be fully supplied.

“We pray because we want you to have the good things we know are yours as a result of our partnership (Philippians 4:11, 17).” -Kenneth Copeland

3. Partake of the Grace

Partners of KCM are covered in prayer on a daily basis. When a natural disaster occurs anywhere in the world, our staff seeks to find out if we have Partners in the area. They are covered in prayer by the ministry and by our Partners around the world–all of us praying, agreeing and joining our faith together.

Corporate prayers, faith and anointing provide a covering of grace. When you, as a Partner, pray for us, you’re praying for other Partners, as well. When we pray for them, we’re also praying for you. That’s the exchange and flow of prayer and anointing. That’s how God designed it. That’s what partnership is all about.

It’s about partaking of each other’s grace. The Bible says one can put a thousand to flight and two–10,000 (Deuteronomy 32:30). Just imagine what hundreds of thousands of KCM Partners are doing right now!

“Our Partners stand alongside us, pray for us and believe God with us. And, as your Partners, that’s exactly what we do for you. We are right beside you, praying for you and believing God with you.” -Kenneth Copeland

That’s what partnership is. Working together–voicing the truth, living the victory, and ministering the life-changing power of the gospel.

We are called to minister together. God has places for us to go and people for us to reach. Together, we are finishing the mission to which He called the Church!

Discover and enjoy the power available to you as a Partner in ministry. Discover your voice, your victory and your ministry!

You Change Everything.

God has always wanted His people to understand the days in which they were living–so that they can act accordingly, with a faith response and in alignment with His will. Like the sons of Issachar mentioned in 1 Chronicles 12:32, God wants us to understand the times and have the knowledge we need to walk by faith. God’s desire to reveal His plan is seen throughout the Word in all the ways He has spoken to mankind.

1. God Speaks Through Prophets

In the Old Testament, for example, He often accomplished this by speaking through His prophets or sending angels to deliver messages. Amos 3:7 tells us, “Indeed, the Sovereign LORD never does anything until he reveals his plans to his servants the prophets.”
It was the prophets calling to deliver warnings, direction and knowledge. They often spoke of what was to come–and even in the present day, God’s prophets continue to give God’s guidance. They deliver words that give us instructions, comfort, assurance and help us to know what to pray, so we pray out the will of God in the earth (Matthew 6:10).

2. God Speaks Through Angels

When Abraham and Sarah hadn’t conceived and grew past the age of childbearing, God sent angels to visit Abraham and deliver the good news that they would have a son–and a year later they did (Genesis 18). God also spoke to Abraham, warning him about the fall of Sodom.  Abraham pleaded with God to spare the people, particularly his nephew Lot (Genesis 18). They had such a Covenant relationship that eventually, God called Abraham His friend: “‘Abraham believed God, and God counted him as righteous because of his faith.’ He was even called the friend of God” (James 2:23).

3. God Speaks Directly to Us

Of course, there is one man in the Old Testament who experienced the holy privilege of having God speak to him directly–Moses. God called out to him from a burning bush saying, “Moses! Moses!” And Moses answered, “Here I am!” And that’s when God gave Moses the assignment of leading the children of Israel out of Egypt and into the Promised Land (Exodus 3:1-17).

In the New Testament, Jesus was the prophet–and He told us of His death, burial, resurrection, being seated at the right hand of God and that He would return one day for His Bride, the Church (John 14:1-3; Ephesians 5:25-27).

4. God Uses Dreams and Visions To Speak To Us

Throughout the Bible, God has also used dreams, visions and words of knowledge to reveal His plans, will and instructions. It was Pharaoh, his butler and baker who had dreams–and it was Joseph who interpreted them (Genesis 40-41). It was Joseph, Jesus’ earthly father, who heard God in a dream and took Mary and Jesus to Egypt (Matthew 2:13-23). In fact, there are more than 20 references in the Scriptures of other examples like these where God spoke to people using dreams and visions.

5. The Holy Spirit Teaches Us and Helps Us

Before Jesus left this earth, He promised to send us a Helper, Someone who would tell us all the truth we needed to know. “I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Advocate, who will never leave you. He is the Holy Spirit, who leads into all truth. The world cannot receive him, because it isn’t looking for him and doesn’t recognize him. But you know him, because he lives with you now and later will be in you” (John 14:15-17).

John the Baptist spoke of this when he said that Jesus would baptize us with the Spirit and with fire–and it happened first in Acts 2, when the disciples were gathered in one place. “Suddenly, there was a sound from heaven like the roaring of a mighty windstorm, and it filled the house where they were sitting. Then, what looked like flames or tongues of fire appeared and settled on each of them. And everyone present was filled with the Holy Spirit and began speaking in other languages, as the Holy Spirit gave them this ability” (Acts 2:2-4).

It is by praying in tongues that we pray out mysteries, which are the things hidden in God (1 Corinthians 14:2).

A Confession for Knowing the Times

God wants to reveal His will, His ways and His Word to you. He wants you to understand the times in which you live. He wants you to know what your faith response should be in these end times. Release your faith to know by declaring this confession today:

“In the Name of Jesus, I have ears to hear. I have eyes to see. I open my heart and mind to know and discern the will of God, to discern the times in which I live. I declare that I have knowledge of His will in all spiritual wisdom. That I have comprehensive insight into the ways and purposes of God, and in understanding and discernment of spiritual things. So that I may walk, live and conduct my life in a manner worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing to Him, and desiring to please Him in all things, bearing fruit in every good work and steadily growing and increasing in and by the knowledge of God–with fuller, deeper, and clearer insight, acquaintance, and recognition. Like the sons of Issachar were in their day, I am in mine! I understand the times and have the knowledge I need when I need it to walk by faith, each and every day. Amen.”

This confession is based on the following biblical references: Proverbs 20:12-13; Colossians 1:9-10; 1 Chronicles 12:32.

One of the most hopeful signs after a thunderstorm is a rainbow stretching across the sky. The only thing better is perhaps seeing two side by side. Have you ever seen a double rainbow? Or have you ever tried to find the end of a rainbow? If you’ve ever seen one from end to end, than you know the thrill of seeing something only God could create. What’s even more encouraging is the realization that God not only made the rainbow as a sign of hope for us, but for every generation that has ever lived, all the way back to Noah in the book of Genesis–because that’s where it all started. For Noah, the rainbow was the seal of God’s blood covenant with him and his family. Positioned between heaven and earth, to this day, it is a hard-to-miss reminder of God’s promise to Noah and all mankind, that no matter how evil things become in this world, God will never again flood the earth, and that He is committed to BLESSING us in every way. That Is the Importance of the Rainbow.

When God made this promise, He said to Noah and his sons:

Then God said, “I am giving you a sign of my covenant with you and with all living creatures, for all generations to come. I have placed my rainbow in the clouds. It is the sign of my covenant with you and with all the earth. When I send clouds over the earth, the rainbow will appear in the clouds, and I will remember my covenant with you and with all living creatures. Never again will the floodwaters destroy all life. When I see the rainbow in the clouds, I will remember the eternal covenant between God and every living creature on earth.” Then God said to Noah, “Yes, this rainbow is the sign of the covenant I am confirming with all the creatures on earth” (Genesis 9:12-17).

There Is a Rainbow In Heaven Too

The rainbow is not just a natural, earthly phenomenon. In heaven, there’s a 360-degree rainbow that surrounds God’s throne. The prophet Ezekiel saw it in the vision as he described the four living creatures, saying:

Above the dome that was over their heads was something like a throne that looked like a sapphire. On it, above it, was what appeared to be a person. I saw what looked like gleaming, amber-colored fire radiating from what appeared to be his waist upward. Downward from what appeared to be his waist, I saw what looked like fire, giving a brilliant light all around him. This brilliance around him looked like a rainbow in a cloud on a rainy day (Ezekiel 1:26-28, Complete Jewish Bible).

The Apostle John provided us with an amazingly similar description. In Revelation 4, he said a door was opened to him in heaven: “And…behold, a throne was set in heaven, and one sat on the throne. And he that sat was to look upon like a jasper and a sardine stone: and there was a rainbow round about the throne, in sight like unto an emerald” (verses 2-3, KJV).

God put a rainbow around His throne so that in any direction He looked, His eyes would forever see the sign of the covenant through which He had obligated Himself to Noah and his descendants. This is a promise for us, that we can fully trust and rely on. To this day, no matter how hard satan and his band of demons try to wreak havoc on earth, God is continually reminded of The Importance of the Rainbow: His promise to BLESS His people and to never flood the whole earth again.

When Moses was protesting to God that he was not the one to go before Pharoah and demand that the Hebrew people be let go from slavery, he said to God, “If I go to the people of Israel and tell them, ‘The God of your ancestors has sent me to you,’ they will ask me, ‘What is his name?’ Then what should I tell them?” (Exodus 3:13).

God answered Moses saying, “I AM who I AM. Say this to the people of Israel: ‘I AM has sent me to you.’ God also said to Moses, ‘Say this to the people of Israel: Yahweh, the God of your ancestors–the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob–has sent me to you. This is my eternal name, my name to remember for all generations'” (verses 14-15).

“I AM who IAM.” By telling Moses His eternal Name, God was saying to Moses that in Him was everything Moses would need to succeed. What’s even more powerful is that in the New Testament (Covenant), this was Jesus’ Name, too. It was just as much His identity as it was God’s. Jesus became “I AM” to us.

Consider the following “I AM” statements in which 7 Times Jesus Told Us Who He Is. Read these as promises from God to you, speaking aloud the confession that follows each one.

1. I Am the Bread of Life.

“I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never be hungry again. Whoever believes in me will never be thirsty.” -John 6:35

Jesus, You are my daily Bread. Because I believe in You and I come to You, You satisfy my spiritual hunger and thirst each and every day.

2. I Am the Light.

Jesus spoke to the people once more and said, “I am the light of the world. If you follow me, you won’t have to walk in darkness, because you will have the light that leads to life.” -John 8:12

Jesus, I follow You, and because of You, I walk in ALL the Light that leads to life.

3. I Am the Door.

“I am the door. If anyone enters by Me, he will be saved, and will go in and out and find pasture. The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.” -John 9:9-10 (NKJV)

Jesus, You came to give me life, that I might have it more abundantly. Thank You for inviting me through You, the Door, to make You the Lord of my life. Thank You for life abundant in every area.

4. I Am the Good Shepherd.

“I am the good shepherd; I know my own sheep, and they know me, just as my Father knows me and I know the Father. So I sacrifice my life for the sheep. I have other sheep, too, that are not in this sheepfold. I must bring them also. They will listen to my voice, and there will be one flock with one shepherd.” -(John 10:14-16)

Jesus, You are the Good Shepherd and I am your sheep. I listen to Your voice. I hear Your voice and the voice of a stranger I will not follow!

5. I Am the Resurrection and the Life.

“I am the resurrection and the life. Anyone who believes in me will live, even after dying. Everyone who lives in me and believes in me will never ever die.” -John 11:25-26

Jesus, You are the Resurrection and the Life. I believe in You; I live in You; and I will never die. I will live eternally because of You and Your resurrection power on the inside of me.

6. I Am the Way, the Truth and the Life.

Jesus answered, “I am the way, the truth, the life. No one can come to the Father except through me.” -John 14:6

Jesus, You are the Way, the Truth and the Life. Thank You for making a way for me to come to the Father by You.

7. I Am the Vine.

“I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.” -John 15:5 (NIV)

Jesus, You are the Vine and I am the branch. I remain in You and You remain in me. Because of that, I will bear much fruit. Apart from You, I can do nothing.

In Isaiah 42:8, God says, “I am the LORD; that is my name!” There is it again. This is who we are. Our identity is in God, in Christ. Everything God declared about Himself, including all that Jesus declared, because of Covenant, because of THE BLESSING, we are too. We have full access to all that God is! It was Jesus who said, “When I AM raised to life again, you will know that I AM in my Father, and you are in me, and I AM in you” (John 14:20-21).

The Apostle John gave us a beautiful description of what happened the morning it was discovered that Jesus, who had been crucified, was no longer in the tomb where they had laid Him. The Bible says in John 20:1-10:

Early on Sunday morning, while it was still dark, Mary Magdalene came to the tomb and found that the stone had been rolled away from the entrance. She ran and found Simon Peter and the other disciple, the one whom Jesus loved [John]. She said, “They have taken the Lord’s body out of the tomb, and we don’t know where they have put him! Peter and the other disciple started out for the tomb. They were both running, but the other disciple outran Peter and reached the tomb first. He stooped and looked in and saw the linen wrappings lying there, but he didn’t go in. Then Simon Peter arrived and went inside. He also noticed the linen wrappings lying there, while the cloth that had covered Jesus’ head was folded up and lying apart from the other wrappings. Then the disciple who had reached the tomb first also went in, and he saw and believed–for until then they still hadn’t understood the Scriptures that said Jesus must rise from the dead. Then they went home.

The next scene is equally miraculous because Jesus appears to Mary:

Mary was standing outside the tomb crying, and as she wept, she stooped and looked in. She saw two white-robed angels, one sitting at the head and the other at the foot of the place where the body of Jesus had been lying. “Dear woman, why are you crying?” the angels asked her. “Because they have taken away my Lord,” she replied, “and I don’t know where they have put him.” She turned to leave and saw someone standing there. It was Jesus, but she didn’t recognize him. “Dear woman, why are you crying?” Jesus asked her. “Who are you looking for?” She thought he was the gardener. “Sir,” she said, “if you have taken him away, tell me where you have put him, and I will go and get him.” “Mary!” Jesus said. She turned to him and cried out, “Rabboni!” (which is Hebrew for “Teacher”). “Don’t cling to me,” Jesus said, “for I haven’t yet ascended to the Father. But go find my brothers and tell them, ‘I am ascending to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God.”‘ Mary Magdalene found the disciples and told them, “I have seen the Lord!” Then she gave them his message (verses 11-18).

Jesus was risen! He was raised from the dead by the glory of God three days after His crucifixion. That’s why we call it the Resurrection and refer to the Sunday that we celebrate this glorious event in our Christian faith as Resurrection Sunday. It’s what paved the way for us to be in Christ.

“Therefore we were buried with Him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. For if we have been united together in the likeness of His death, certainly we also shall be in the likeness of His resurrection” (Romans 6:4-5, NKJV).

He Is Risen

Yes, the world calls it Easter Sunday. It’s a holiday celebrated by Christians and non-Christians alike, often characterized by dying eggs, hiding and finding them, chocolate bunnies, baskets and dinners that include traditional dishes. While companies who produce “Christian” products have taken Easter traditions and created a “Christian” version of eggs, bunnies and such, it remains a holy holiday celebrating the resurrection of Jesus!

Granted, most of us grew up calling it Easter Sunday, celebrating it in our churches even while fully acknowledging the heart of the celebration is Jesus’ resurrection. We have fond memories of Easter baskets, Easter egg hunts and chomping down on chocolate bunnies–something many of us may still enjoy. But how much better to redirect our focus even further to the heart of the holy day…the Resurrection of Jesus!

For decades, Kenneth Copeland and his family, along with the Eagle Mountain International Church family, have called it Resurrection Sunday, because that is what we celebrate. It is the day that changed the course of history. It is the day Jesus rose from the dead, having been to the depths of hell where He took the keys to death, hell and the grave from Satan himself (Revelation 1:18). It is the day that fulfilled all the Old Testament prophecies. It is the day that the glory of God made a way for us to be free from the power of the devil.

What a day to celebrate! As you prepare for Holy Week, when many churches give special attention to the days leading up to Resurrection Sunday, focus your heart on the Resurrection. Focus your heart on all that it means for the believer–that we can live free, whole, healed and prosperous because of what Jesus did for us. Focus your heart on the fact that HE IS RISEN.

Happy Resurrection Sunday!

When we examine the many times prayer is mentioned in the Word or demonstrated by people in the Bible, including the times that Jesus prayed, we recognize there are many ways to pray. In fact, Ephesians 6:18 tells us, “Pray at all times (on every occasion, in every season) in the Spirit, with all [manner of] prayer and entreaty. To that end keep alert and watch with strong purpose and perseverance, interceding in behalf of all the saints (God’s consecrated people)” (AMPC).

We’re to pray “with all manner of prayer.” Not just one kind of prayer. In response to this, and in order to teach faith-filled believers how to pray, these many ways to pray have become known as the Prayer of Salvation, the Prayer of Petition, the Prayer of Dedication, or the Prayer of Thanksgiving and Praise, and others, including the Prayer of Agreement. The goal of discussing these specific types of prayer is to empower believers in their prayer lives, and today, we are going to share how to pray the Prayer of Agreement.

The Prayer of Agreement is based on the scripture where Jesus instructed His disciples and us: “I also tell you this: If two of you agree here on earth concerning anything you ask, my Father in heaven will do it for you” (Matthew 18:19). What a promise! The AMPC renders it this way: “Again I tell you, if two of you on earth agree (harmonize together, make a symphony together) about whatever [anything and everything] they may ask, it will come to pass and be done for them by My Father in heaven.”

If you’ve ever heard a symphony tune up their instruments, then you know it sounds terrible. There are screeching and pitchy sounds coming from every direction. It can make you want to put your hands over your ears. But when the conductor steps up to his stand and taps on it to get everyone’s attention, and then raises his baton to begin, everyone in the orchestra stops and restarts together, all playing the score before them. That’s when it becomes beautiful music. That’s when their collective sound makes a whole different sound than any one instrument ever could. Why? Because they are all now playing in agreement. They’re moving forward in the same direction playing the same music. They are harmonizing together, as the AMPC describes.

Agreement Produces Results

What is it that you need? What miracle are you desperate to receive? There’s no greater power in prayer and no greater way to release your faith than to get into agreement with another faith-filled believer and pray in alignment with each other and with the Word of God. That’s praying the Prayer of Agreement.

All through the years of their ministry life, when Kenneth and Gloria Copeland needed to see God move, receive a miracle, or have resources increase, they took the time to go to the Word of God, find verses that applied to their request, write out a Prayer of Petition–something that works hand in hand with the Prayer of Agreement–and then verbally agreed in prayer together that it was done, based on Matthew 18:19. What’s more, because they were in a covenant relationship–because they were married and had entered into covenant with each other–they stood in a place of unbreakable solidarity. Kenneth Copeland has often said that there is no one better to agree with in prayer than our spouse.

Again, what is it you need? Who is it with whom you agree in prayer to see that need come to pass?

  1. Go together to the Word to find the foundational verse you will stand on.
  2. Write it out as a personal petition to God, believing Him to grant your petition based on John 16:23: “At that time you won’t need to ask me for anything. I tell you the truth, you will ask the Father directly, and he will grant your request because you use my name.”
  3. And then, pray it aloud together; pray the Prayer of Agreement.

Hebrews 4:16 assures us that we are to come boldly to the throne of grace that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in our time of need. Learning the different kinds of prayer and how to pray them effectively is one more step in our spiritual journey to living the life of peace and joy God intended for each and every one of us.

Are You Praying the Prayer of Petition?

Proverbs 4:20-23 tells us, “My son, attend to my words; incline thine ear unto my sayings. Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart. For they are life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh. Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life” (King James Version). God’s Word is life to us, and He tells us to incline our ear to His Word. The word incline means “feel willing or favorably disposed toward (an action, belief, or attitude),” according to the Oxford English Dictionary.

Next, He tells us to not let His Word depart from our eyes. This will keep His Word in our hearts and coming out our mouths…and it helps us to see ourselves healed and made whole. This is how we picture ourselves the way God sees us. Using your imagination, see yourself healed. See yourself standing, walking and moving about without any health issues. See yourself raising your arms, bending over, picking something up off the floor. See yourself doing what you haven’t been able to do before!

Faith always begins where the will of God is known. Therefore, for you to receive the healing God has for you by faith, it’s critical that you know, that you know, that you know that it is God’s plan for you to be well. And the best way to build your faith to believe and receive–so that you know, that you know, that you know–is to saturate yourself with the truth of God’s Word.

Take time now to Build Your Faith With These Healing Scriptures, and then watch it go to work in your body.

  1. “If you diligently heed the voice of the LORD your God and do what is right in His sight, give ear to His commandments and keep all His statutes, I will put none of the diseases on you which I have brought on the Egyptians. For I am the LORD who heals you” (Exodus 15:26, New King James Version).
  2. “So you shall serve the LORD your God, and He will bless your bread and your water. And I will take sickness away from the midst of you” (Exodus 23:25).
  3. “He gives power to the weak, and to those who have no might He increases strength” (Isaiah 40:29).
  4. “Surely He has borne our griefs and carried our sorrows; yet we esteemed Him stricken, smitten by God, and afflicted. But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement for our peace was upon Him, and by His stripes we are healed” (Isaiah 53:4-5).
  5. “For the LORD protects the bones of the righteous; not one of them is broken!” (Psalm 34:20).
  6. “No evil shall befall you, nor shall any plague come near your dwelling” (Psalm 91:10, NKJV).

  8. “He sent out his word and healed them, snatching them from the door of death” (Psalm 107:20).
  9. “The LORD opens the eyes of the blind; the LORD raises those who are bowed down; the LORD loves the righteous” (Psalm 146:8, NKJV).
  10. “A peaceful heart leads to a healthy body” (Proverbs 14:30).
  11. “The spirit of a man will sustain him in sickness, but who can bear a broken spirit?” (Proverbs 18:14, NKJV).
  12. “But for you who fear my name, the Sun of Righteousness will rise with healing in his wings.  And you will go free, leaping with joy like calves let out to pasture” (Malachi 4:2).
  13. “When evening had come, they brought to Him many who were demon-possessed. And He cast out the spirits with a word, and healed all who were sick, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Isaiah the prophet, saying: ‘He Himself took our infirmities and bore our  sicknesses'” (Matthew 8:16-17, NKJV).
  14. “A vast crowd brought to him people who were lame, blind, crippled, those who couldn’t speak, and many others. They laid them before Jesus, and he healed them all” (Matthew 15:30).
  15. “And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues; they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover” (Mark 16:17-18, NKJV).
  16. “The Spirit of God, who raised Jesus from the dead, lives in you. And just as God raised Christ Jesus from the dead, he will give life to your mortal bodies by this same Spirit living within you” (Romans 8:11).
  17. “Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you completely; and may your whole spirit, soul, and body be preserved blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ” (1 Thessalonians 5:23, NKJV).
  18. “And the prayer of faith will save the sick, and the Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven” (James 5:15, NKJV).
  19. “Who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness–by whose stripes you were healed” (1 Peter 2:24).
  20. “Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers” (3 John 2).

“Beloved,” the Apostle John began, “I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers” (3 John 2, NKJV). It is the perfect will of God–the COVENANT perfect will of God–for you to prosper. Even if you are you dealing with lack, realize that it’s not from God. There is no lack in Him! Are you suffering with an illness? It’s not from God, because there is no sickness in Him.

For whatever you need, you can call on the Name of Jesus to prosper, because it’s only in Jesus that we can find the abundant life God has for us. Jesus Himself said, “The thief comes only in order to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance (to the full, till it overflows)” (John 10:10, AMPC). God’s Word is full of COVENANT promises of abundance for us, but for God’s promises to work in our lives, we need to learn how to activate them. To get started, consider these 3 Ways You Can Live an Abundant Life.

1. Hide God’s Word In Your Heart.

David praised God saying, “Your word I have hidden in my heart, that I might not sin against You” (Psalm 119:11, NKJV). To hide God’s Word in our hearts is to read it, meditate it, study it, memorize it and speak it. We call this renewing our minds because that’s the phrase the Apostle Paul used in Romans 12:2 where he wrote: “Do not be conformed to this world (this age), [fashioned after and adapted to its external, superficial customs], but be transformed (changed) by the [entire] renewal of your mind [by its new ideals and its new attitude], so that you may prove [for yourselves] what is the good and acceptable and perfect will of God, even the thing which is good and acceptable and perfect [in His sight for you]” (AMPC).

2. Release Your Faith In God’s Word.

The way we release faith and cause it to work on our behalf is by speaking it. Romans 10:8 says, “The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart” (that is, the word of faith which we preach)” (NKJV). Faith speaks, but it cannot say the Word of God if the Word does not first reside in our minds. Why? Because we speak what we think. We say what’s in our hearts. When we’re squeezed by pressure, what’s inside us automatically comes out of our mouths. If we have God’s Word inside us in abundance, faith words come out. If we don’t have His Word abiding in us, then fear and everything that goes with it comes out.

3. Take Corresponding Action.

James is the apostle who teaches us that faith without works is dead because faith is acting on the Word. “What does it profit, my brethren,” James writes, “if someone says he has faith but does not have works? Can faith save him? If a brother or sister is naked and destitute of daily food, and one of you says to them, ‘Depart in peace, be warmed and filled,’ but you do not give them the things which are needed for the body, what does it profit? Thus also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead. But someone will say, ‘You have faith, and I have works.’ Show me your faith without your works, and I will show you my faith by my works. You believe that there is one God. You do well. Even the demons believe–and tremble! But do you want to know, O foolish man, that faith without works is dead? Was not Abraham our father justified by works when he offered Isaac his son on the altar? Do you see that faith was working together with his works, and by works faith was made perfect? (James 2:14-22, NKJV).

The Greek word perfect in this verse is teleios. It means, “perfect, complete, full grown, of full age, developed into a consummating completion by fulfilling the necessary process.”
Adding actions to your faith is a part of the perfect law, created by a perfect God. It is the truth. And Jesus said that truth will make you free (John 8:32).

Start living your life of abundance today. Stand on God’s Word, release it and act on it. Then watch God move in your life and bring you not only what you need, but also His abundance.

Adapted from Kenneth Copeland’s and Greg Stephen’s new book, God, The Covenant and The Contradiction, available here.

“Happy New Year!” Isn’t that what we say to one another when the clock strikes midnight on Dec. 31, each and every year? Of course we do, and what a positive way to kick off a new year full of new possibilities! But what would be even better is if we kicked off the beginning of each year by standing on the promises of God in faith for our financial future. After all, God’s Word is full of promises we can read, memorize, personalize, pray and declare over our lives in faith.

Consider these 20 Scriptures for Financial Prosperity In the New Year.

It’s God’s will to prosper you in 2024.

1. “Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers” -3 John 2 (NKJV).

2. “Let them shout for joy, and be glad, that favour my righteous cause: yea, let them say continually, Let the LORD be magnified, which hath pleasure in the prosperity of his servant” -Psalm 35:27 (KJV).

3. “And you shall remember the LORD your God, for it is He who gives you power to get wealth, that He may establish His covenant which He swore to your fathers, as it is this day”-Deuteronomy 8:18 (NKJV).

4. “And my God will liberally supply (fill to the full) your every need according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus” -Philippians 4:19 (AMPC).

5. “They will live in prosperity, and their children will inherit the land” -Psalm 25:13.

It’s God’s will that you are BLESSED in 2024.

6. “I will make of you a great nation, and I will bless you [with abundant increase of favors] and make your name famous and distinguished, and you will be a blessing [dispensing good to others]. And I will bless those who bless you [who confer prosperity or happiness upon you] and curse him who curses or uses insolent language toward you; in you will all the families and kindred of the earth be blessed [and by you they will bless themselves]” -Genesis 12:2-3 (AMPC).

7. “The blessing of the LORD, it maketh rich, and he addeth no sorrow with it” -Proverbs 10:22 (KJV).

8. “Blessed are those who trust in the LORD and have made the LORD their hope and confidence. They are like trees planted along a riverbank, with roots that reach deep into the water. Such trees are not bothered by the heat or worried by long months of drought. Their leaves stay green, and they never stop producing fruit” (Jeremiah 17:7-8).

9. “Blessed shall you be when you come in, and blessed shall you be when you go out. The LORD will command the blessing on you in your storehouses and in all to which you set your hand, and He will bless you in the land which the LORD your God is giving you.” -Deuteronomy 28:6, 8 (NKJV).

10. “For You make him to be blessed and a blessing forever; You make him exceedingly glad with the joy of Your presence.”-Psalm 21:6 (AMPC).

It’s God’s will that you access a supernatural transfer of wealth in 2024.

11. “A good man leaveth an inheritance to his children’s children: and the wealth of the sinner is laid up for the just” -Proverbs 13:22 (KJV).

12. “Evil people may have piles of money and may store away mounds of clothing. But the righteous will wear that clothing, and the innocent will divide that money…. The wicked go to bed rich but wake to find that all their wealth is gone” (Job 27:16-17, 19).

13. “If a sinner becomes wealthy, God takes the wealth away and gives it to those who please him” -Ecclesiastes 2:26.

14. “Income from charging high interest rates will end up in the pocket of someone who is kind to the poor” -Proverbs 28:8.

15. “The LORD your God will soon bring you into the land he swore to give you when he made a vow to your ancestors Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. It is a land with large, prosperous cities that you did not build. The houses will be richly stocked with goods you did not produce. You will draw water from cisterns you did not dig, and you will eat from vineyards and olive trees you did not plant” -Deuteronomy 6:10-11.

It’s God’s will that you reap a bountiful harvest in 2024.

16. “You crown the year with a bountiful harvest; even the hard pathways overflow with abundance. The grasslands of the wilderness become a lush pasture, and the hillsides blossom with joy. The meadows are clothed with flocks of sheep, and the valleys are carpeted with grain. They all shout and sing for joy!” -Psalm 65:11-13.

17. “Then Isaac sowed seed in that land and received in the same year a hundred times as much as he had planted, and the Lord favored him with blessings” -Genesis 26:12 (AMPC).

18. “Behold, the days are coming, says the Lord, that the plowman shall overtake the reaper, and the treader of grapes him who sows the seed; and the mountains shall drop sweet wine and all the hills shall melt [that is, everything heretofore barren and unfruitful shall overflow with spiritual blessing]” -Amos 9:13 (AMPC).

19. “And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not” -Galatians 6:9 (KJV).

20. “Now to Him Who, by (in consequence of) the [action of His] power that is at work within us, is able to [carry out His purpose and] do superabundantly, far over and above all that we [dare] ask or think [infinitely beyond our highest prayers, desires, thoughts, hopes, or dreams] to Him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations forever and ever. Amen (so be it)” -Ephesians 3:20-21 (AMPC).

God is the God of increase! Kenneth Copeland has said that 2024 will be a powerful year. So, let’s take these scriptures and put them to work in our lives, ensuring that 2024 is a happy new year all year long!

Throughout Scripture, oil was used to anoint people for many reasons. Typically, it was part of their calling to represent God in the earth. Priests, kings, prophets and temples were anointed as a sign that they were being set apart for God and His purposes. In 1 Samuel 16:13, for example, the prophet Samuel anointed David the shepherd boy as the future king of Israel. Interestingly, people were also anointed for burial, for medicinal reasons and as a part of personal hygiene. In John 12:1-8, six days before Passover, Jesus visited Lazarus, Mary and Martha in their home. While He was there, Mary anointed Jesus’ feet, and when Judas questioned her use of such costly oil, Jesus said, “Let her alone; she has kept this for the day of My burial” (verse 7, NKJV).

Today, we most often use oil to anoint someone when they are battling sickness or disease. We do this in obedience to the Word in James 5, and we use any kind of oil, such as olive oil or another easily accessible type. The Word instructs us: “Is anyone among you suffering? Let him pray. Is anyone cheerful? Let him sing psalms. Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer of faith will save the sick, and the Lord will raise him up” (verses 13-15, NKJV).

The Impact of Anointing With Oil

In recent years, Kenneth Copeland noticed a small spot on his hand that had begun to itch. When he naturally scratched it, not only did it become inflamed, but it also began to hurt. Having it looked at by a doctor and biopsied, he learned that it was malignant. Following the instructions in God’s Word, he called for “the elders of the church to pray over him.” In the context of this scripture, the elders were the leaders of the church.

So, Brother Copeland called his pastors, George and Terri Pearsons, and shared what he was facing. The family gathered in his kitchen: Gloria and a dear friend of Gloria’s, Pastors George and Terri, with John and Kellie Copeland on the phone. For the Copeland family, it was a time to come together in faith and agreement for Brother Copeland’s healing, and take a stand against the diagnosis he’d been given.

The Word promises us that “if two of you agree on earth concerning anything that they ask, it will be done for them by My Father in heaven. For where two or three are gathered together in My name, I am there in the midst of them” (Matthew 18:19-20, NKJV).

Understanding this and James 5:13-14, Pastor George led everyone in prayer, and as he did, he took a drop of oil from a small bottle and put it on his finger. Then he touched it to the spot on Kenneth’s hand. When he did, Kenneth said that a shock went through him, and immediately he began to laugh and say, “Glory to God! That did it!”

A Point of Contact

Now, the oil didn’t perform the healing, because healing comes from God. However, using the oil like Pastor George did it is what we call a “point of contact.” That is something you use to focus and release your faith. It’s an action taken that God honors and is symbolic. For example, Kenneth has often spoken of his mother praying for him when he was a young man living at home. When he was out, she often would take his pillow, wrap her arms around it, and walk as she prayed for him. When she was through praying, she would put it back on his bed. For his mother, this was a point of contact. It was something used to focus her faith while praying for Kenneth.

Likewise, when it comes to anointing someone with oil, the oil itself doesn’t have healing properties. As we release our faith and take the action of anointing with oil in obedience to God’s Word, healing comes from God. We use the oil as a physical point of contact as we connect with God’s healing power.

Testify

When Kenneth had the spot rechecked medically, the doctor shaved off a portion of the skin and examined it for cancer cells–and there were none. To this day, Kenneth has a scar to remind him of God’s healing power and faithfulness to heal when we follow His instructions to “call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord” (James 5:14, NKJV). As we do the same, our lives will also testify of the power of God to save and heal!

The writer of Hebrews shared the story of the greatest heroes of our faith, showing that to live a victorious life for God here on earth, to have effective faith, we must develop determined faith. Writing to the early Christians, he said: “And what shall I say further? For time would fail me to tell of Gideon, Barak, Samson, Jephthah, of David and Samuel and the prophets, who by [the help of] faith subdued kingdoms, administered justice, obtained promised blessings, closed the mouths of lions, extinguished the power of raging fire, escaped the devourings of the sword, out of frailty and weakness won strength and became stalwart, even mighty and resistless in battle, routing alien hosts” (Hebrews 11:32-34, AMPC).

To have determined faith is to have faith with an unwavering resolve: the kind of faith that allows nothing to stand in the way or deter us from achieving whatever it is we are believing for. When our faith is determined, we can do anything God calls us to do. God’s Word is clear: Determined Faith Is Effective Faith.

The Impact of Determined Faith

In Mark 2:1-5 (AMPC), four men with determined faith lowered their friend into the presence of Jesus, and the results were miraculous!

And Jesus having returned to Capernaum, after some days it was rumored about that He was in the house [probably Peter’s]. And so many people gathered together there that there was no longer room [for them], not even around the door; and He was discussing the Word. Then they came, bringing a paralytic to Him, who had been picked up and was being carried by four men. And when they could not get him to a place in front of Jesus because of the throng, they dug through the roof above Him; and when they had scooped out an opening, they let down the [thickly padded] quilt or mat upon which the paralyzed man lay. And when Jesus saw their faith [their confidence in God through Him], He said to the paralyzed man, Son, your sins are forgiven [you] and put away [that is, the penalty is remitted, the sense of guilt removed, and you are made upright and in right standing with God].

The four friends were so determined, so resolved for their paralyzed friend to get to Jesus, they tore up the roof and lowered him into the meeting. And Jesus noticed their faith. Have you ever used your faith for someone else to receive whatever it was they needed to receive? Healing? Financial help? The restoration of a relationship? A breakthrough? Surround yourself with friends of determined faith…and be that determined, faithful friend!

So, what makes faith determined?

  • When determined faith is at work, it can be seen. “Faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead” (James 2:17, NKJV).
  • When determined faith is at work, it produces results. “For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world–our faith” (1 John 5:4, NKJV).
  • When determined faith is at work, it is effective! “Truly I tell you, whoever says to this mountain, Be lifted up and thrown into the sea! and does not doubt at all in his heart but believes that what he says will take place, it will be done for him” (Mark 11:23, AMPC).

In 2008, Pastor George Pearsons penned A Psalm of Determination. Take it and make it your confession today!

I have made up my mind.
I have made my decision.
I have set my faith.
I am fully persuaded that I’m going to make it.

Nothing is going to stop me.
Nothing is going to hold me back.
Nothing is going to keep me down.
Nothing is going to stand in my way of the fullness of THE BLESSING.
For I am determined.

You can’t talk me out of it.
You can’t discourage me from it.
You can’t deter me from all that is mine in Christ.
For I am determined.

Undaunted, unbending, unflagging, unflinching.
No matter what happens, I am going to make it.
According to The WORD of God, I am going to make it.
For in Him, I am determined.

In Joshua 1:8, the Lord instructs us to meditate His Word: “This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.”

But what does it mean to actually meditate the Word of God? And how do you do it?

When Kenneth Copeland first began learning such spiritual principles, he often equated them to the laws of flight–because as a pilot, that was what he understood–and meditating the Word was one of those spiritual principles.

For example, as Kenneth learned to fly, he found it hard to understand the navigation instruments. To help his mind grasp them, he set up a lamp in the middle of a room and turned it on. Then, he turned off the overhead light so only the lamp was illuminating the room. While staring at the lamp, in his mind he began to walk through all the flight steps. By keeping his eyes on the lamp, and by thinking of only the instruments, he mentally flew around the lamp.

What was he doing? He was meditating on all the steps. He was meditating on how you actually fly a plane. There were no simulators when Kenneth learned to fly, so this was the way he learned, depending on nothing but the instrument panel.

When he and Gloria first began to learn about meditating the Word, Kenneth said to her, “I already know how to do this. I’m an instrument pilot. I had to learn how to fly looking at the panel only, and not be moved by what I feel or see.”

Kenneth realized that living by faith–and not being moved by what he felt or saw–was just the same as flying instruments. If he could learn to meditate how to fly a plane, then he could learn how to meditate the Word of God! Second Corinthians 5:7 tells us that we walk by faith and not by sight! And we learn how to do that by first meditating the Word.

Jesus Meditated the Word

When Jesus walked the earth, He said that He only said what His Father said, and He only did what His Father did (John 12:49, 5:19). So how did He know what His Father said and did? He meditated on the Word of God. He read the Book. He found Himself in the Book (Luke 4:16-19, 24:27-48).

When Kenneth learned to meditate the Word, he did what Jesus did. He found himself in the Book.

Meditating Is Looking

Proverbs 4:20-22 tells us, “My son, give attention to my words; incline your ear to my sayings. Do not let them depart from your eyes; keep them in the midst of your heart; for they are life to those who find them, and health to all their flesh” (NKJV).

Hebrews 12:1-3 tells us to fix our eyes on Jesus. Where do we find Jesus? In His Word, because He and the Word are one (John 1). They have existed as one since the beginning (John 1). Look to Jesus, the Word says in Hebrews 12:2, the Author and Finisher of our faith.

Meditating Is Thinking

Philippians 4:8 instructs us, “Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy–meditate on these things” (NKJV). In other words, think on these things. Think on these things instead of all the thoughts passing through your mind.

You can actually choose what you think! You have the power to think the Word and nothing else. Romans 12:2 tells us, “And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God” (NKJV). We change our minds from what we think to what the Bible thinks by looking at it and then thinking on it.

Meditating Is Saying

God created this world with words (Genesis 1). Words primarily release power; and secondarily, communicate. This is why it is so important that we watch what we say, that we speak the Word only. When Jesus went to heal the centurion’s son, the centurion said, “Lord, I am not worthy that You should come under my roof. But only speak a word, and my servant will be healed” (Matthew 8:8, NKJV). This is where we get this principle, but the only way we can speak the Word only, is to have first looked at it and thought about it.

Meditating Is Walking In Faith

Second Corinthians 5:7 reminds us, “For we walk by faith, not by sight.” To walk in faith, we have to know what faith is. And while faith is a spiritual force given to us by God to use–to bring into this seen earthly realm what is currently not seen in our lives–we have to first find it in the Word of God and then develop it in our lives. We develop it, meaning we feed it and encourage it to grow in us, by meditating the Word–by looking at the Word, thinking on the Word, saying the Word, and then walking in it.

When we walk by faith, we walk trusting God that what His Word says is true–that what His Word says He will do, and it will come to pass!

If you’re a believer, you are called by God to do the works of Jesus. You’re not called just to sit on the sidelines watching while God pours out His supernatural power through others He’s specially anointed. No, God intends for you to be anointed! He intends for you to be one of those through whom He pours out His burden-removing, yoke-destroying power. Here are some points to help you walk in it:

  1. Every supernatural work Jesus did during His earthly ministry was done by the power of the anointing, so to do His works you must be anointed too–Acts 10:38: “How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.”
  2. God established the fivefold ministry to be His anointing distribution system–Ephesians 4:11-12: “And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; for the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ.”
  3. As members of the Body of Christ we increase in His Anointing as we come together as partners in ministry–Ephesians 4:15-16: “But, speaking the truth in love, may grow up in all things into Him who is the head–Christ–from whom the whole body, joined and knit together by what every joint supplies, according to the effective working by which every part does its share, causes growth of the body for the edifying of itself in love” (New King James Version).
  4. When you become a partner with a fivefold ministry, the grace and anointing on that ministry comes on  you–Philippians 1:7: “Even as it is meet for me to think this of you all, because I have you in my heart; inasmuch as both in my bonds, and in the defence and confirmation of the gospel, ye all are partakers of my grace.”
  5. Partnering with a minister of God qualifies you to walk in the same level of BLESSING that minister walks in and to receive the same heavenly and earthly rewards–Matthew 10:41: “He that receiveth a prophet in the name of a prophet shall receive a prophet’s reward.”

It’s been said that the key to the gospel is in the prepositions. If you don’t recall what prepositions are, they’re words in the English language that precede nouns and pronouns and tell us something in relation to the noun or pronoun and the rest of the sentence. These words include for, with, in, through and by. They may not seem to communicate much on their own, but their placement in Scripture is key to understanding it.

For example, notice the prepositions in Hebrews 9:12 (KJV): “Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us.”

Did you see the power of the prepositions? What Jesus did for us, He did by His own blood; it’s the way by which He saved us.

Galatians 3:13 (KJV) tells us that “Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree.”

Are you catching on? Christ redeemed us from the curse. He was made a curse for us. Without the prepositions in this translation, we would miss the revelation God wants us to have about our identity in Christ.

In fact, one of the best ways to discover and study our identity in Christ is to read through Paul’s letters to the Romans, Corinthians, Galatians, Ephesians and Colossians. Every time you see the two-word prepositional phrases such as…

  • in Christ, of Christ or with Christ
  • in Him, of Him, with Him or from Him
  • in whom, through whom, from whom or by whom
  • in Me, by Me
  • in the beloved or in My love

…highlight, circle or underline those phrases. Those two-word phrases describe who you are and what you have as a born-again believer. There are more than 130 such occurrences, and they describe what God has already done for you and in you. If you’ll do this, then you will discover who you are in Him.
To help you learn how to do this on your own, consider the following 15 Verses for Finding Your Identity In Christ. Notice the phrases highlighted for you. There are also many more through the entire New Testament!
