Your Big Fix Could Begin With Speaking the Word – Kenneth Copeland Ministries

Your Big Fix Could Begin With Speaking the Word

3 min

You’ve prayed about the situation. You’ve found God’s promises concerning it. You’ve decided to believe Him. What’s next? You may need a simple but Big Fix from God.

But first, you need to pay attention to what you say.

When you’re believing God for a Big Fix in your health, finances, family or any other area of life, your words matter. You can’t spend time praying the Word and then spend the rest of the day talking about how impossible everything looks.

Jesus said, “Whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith” (Mark 11:23, KJV).

Notice how much Jesus talked about what we say. Faith isn’t silent. Faith speaks!

What Has Your Attention?

Jesus said, “For whatever is in your heart determines what you say” (Matthew 12:34).

That means if you want to change what is coming out of your mouth, start by paying attention to what is going into your heart.

If you continually think about the problem, talk about it, and listen to other people talk about it, eventually the problem will fill your heart. Then, under pressure, that’s what will come out of your mouth.

Instead, do something different for your Big Fix. Fill your heart with the Word of God. If you need healing, find healing scriptures and spend time with them. If there is a lack in your finances, meditate on God’s promises of provision. If you need peace in your home, fill your heart with what the Word says about love, peace and restoration.

Romans 10:17, NKJV, says, “So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.” So, give yourself something faith-filled to hear!

Read the Word aloud. Practice speaking the Word while you’re driving. Say it while you’re getting ready in the morning. Keep God’s promises before you until they become more real to you than the circumstances trying to discourage you.

Answer the Problem With the Word

There’s a difference between acknowledging a situation and agreeing with it. You may have received a difficult report. You may have bills to pay. You may be facing something in your family that needs to be restored.

You don’t have to pretend those circumstances don’t exist for a Big Fix. But you also don’t have to give them authority over your words.

When fear says, “This will never change,” answer it:

“With God, everything is possible” (Matthew 19:26).

When lack says, “There won’t be enough,” answer it:

“My God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:19, NKJV).

When sickness says, “You’ll always be this way,” answer it:

“By his wounds you are healed” (1 Peter 2:24).

Let the Word have the final say.

Make Your Words Agree With the Word

Sometimes, believers are careful about their confession during prayer because they are focused on their Big Fix, but careless with their words the rest of the day.

Listen to yourself.

Are you saying:

  • “This always happens to me.”
  • “I’ll never get ahead.”
  • “Nothing is changing.”
  • “My family is a mess.”
  • “I just don’t know what we’re going to do.”

When you hear yourself speaking contrary to the Word, stop.

Don’t condemn yourself. Correct yourself. Say, “No. That isn’t what I believe. I believe God’s Word.” Then replace those words with words of faith.

That simple practice will help train your mouth to agree with your heart about God’s promises.

Make This Practical Today

Choose the area where you need your Big Fix.

Then do three things:

  1. Find one promise from God’s Word that covers the situation.
  2. Write it somewhere you will see it throughout the day.
  3. Speak it every time the problem tries to dominate your thoughts.

Don’t speak about the problem repeatedly. Practice speaking the Word as the answer.

Don’t rehearse defeat. Rehearse the promise.

And don’t wait until you feel full of faith to do it. Faith comes by hearing the Word. As you continue hearing what God says and speaking the Word, your faith will grow stronger.

Your circumstances may be talking. But you have something more powerful to say.

As you fill your heart with the Word and train your mouth to agree with it, you won’t have to let every report, bill or circumstance determine your response. You can quickly answer pressure with faith and declare what God has said.

God’s Word is true. God is faithful. His promises belong to me. I will keep my words in agreement with Him, and I expect my Big Fix!
