God does not want you poor and miserable. He wants you blessed.

If you are born again, as a joint heir with Christ, all God’s resources belong to you. This isn’t just religion; it’s New Testament reality! When Jesus went to the cross, He totally defeated poverty on your behalf once and for all. As 2 Corinthians 8:9 says, “You know the generous grace of our Lord Jesus Christ. Though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, so that by his poverty he could make you rich.”

Notice that verse doesn’t say He did it so you would just have your needs met. It says He became poor so that you might be rich! This is God’s will for you! He doesn’t want you having to go to the government for finances. God doesn’t want you having to borrow money from the bank. He Himself wants to supply you with more than enough for every good work.

Of course, there are biblical principles we must follow to receive financial blessing—tithing, sowing, generosity, humility and walking in love toward all people in all things. God doesn’t mind us having money, but He does mind money having us. As long as we seek Him first and His righteousness, we can be assured that all these things will be added to us. His Word says He delights in the prosperity of His people and when you delight yourself in Him, He will give you the desires of your heart.

It’s up to us to take a stand on the victory Jesus has already won and put that poverty spirit where it belongs—under our feet!

We encourage you to study God’s Word where prosperity is concerned. You can start with the following scriptures:

Genesis 12:16
Deuteronomy 8:18
Deuteronomy 28:8-13
Joshua 1:8
Psalm 37:4
Psalm 35:27
Matthew 6:33
2 Corinthians 9:8-9
Philippians 4:19
3 John 2
