Gaining the Advantage God's Way

Insider information—it can get you into a lot of trouble; it can also get you ahead in life.

You’ve probably heard stories how insider information made people rich but got them thrown in jail. They learned information about someone or something—maybe something about the stock market, government contracts or a corporate merger—then wrongly used that knowledge to their advantage.

The same can happen in our personal lives. Finding out the latest scoop on a neighbor, co-worker or church member—then spreading it around—can get you into a mess.

But how about those times when it’s good, even helpful and appropriate, to know the “goods” on a person or situation. Like…

“Which day care can I trust?”

“Where should we go for lunch?”

“What time should I leave for the airport?”

It’s that kind of valuable information that can give you an edge in life.

And what better source to go to for anything you need to know than God.

He sees everything—Hebrews 4:13.

He knows everything—1 John 3:20.

Did you know God’s sitting on a world of information right now, just waiting to pass it along to you, so you can have every advantage in life? (It’s true!)

You’ll often hear Kenneth Copeland say that God’s not trying to keep things from us. He’s trying to get things to us—like information and knowledge.

Genesis 6—God warned Noah of a flood.

Genesis 41—God prepared Joseph for abundance and famine.

Luke 5; Matthew 17; John 21—Jesus told His disciples where to fish.

But even more amazing is one of the time-tested, sure ways God has of downloading what’s in His head to yours.

Amos 3:7 (AMPC) says, “Surely the Lord God will do nothing without revealing His secret to His servants the prophets.”

Once when Israel was about to be attacked by three enemies at the same time, the king called a national day of prayer to get help from God (2 Chronicles 20). As a great gathering of people stood outside the Temple in Jerusalem praying and worshipping God, the Spirit came upon a man, and he began to prophesy, basically giving Israel a battle strategy. It sounded crazy—but it worked!

God often uses prophets to get valuable information into the hands of His people. And hopefully by now, you’ve come across the following prophecy God spoke to Brother Copeland concerning 2022:

2022 is the year of correction, direction, protection and perfection—in spirit, soul and body, in finances, churches and government.

In 2022, you WILL know what to do!

In 2022, it ALL belongs to you!

As encouraging as these words are, how can you be sure they will actually happen?

Check out these 5 action steps that will give you an advantage in life God’s way:

1. Expect God to speak.

Jesus was praying out loud in public one day, and God responded in an audible voice (John 12:28-30). Some of the people around Jesus heard it; others thought it was thunder.

Don’t get caught snoozing and miss out on what God’s saying. Expect to hear from Him.

2. Get used to God’s style.

We all have our way of saying things.

God likes speaking the end from the beginning, letting us know what’s coming down the road (Isaiah 46:10). It’s His way of letting us know He’s God.

Get used to God speaking to you from the future.

3. Know who’s really doing the talking.

Jesus once asked His disciples a question to see if they were on the same page, and they all had pretty good answers—but Peter’s was the best, to which Jesus replied:

“This was not revealed to you by flesh and blood, but by my Father in heaven” (Matthew 16:17, NIV).

Recognize the real Source behind the words.

4. Get a second (or third) opinion.

“Two or three prophets should speak and the others should weigh carefully what is said” (1 Corinthians 14:29, NIV).

This comes from a principle and practice established by God: “On the [word] of two or three witnesses a matter shall be confirmed” (Deuteronomy 19:15, NASB).

5. Keep it in your face.

Romans 10:17 says that “faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God” (NKJV).

We all have those things we highlight, #tag, bookmark, stick on the fridge; those habits that help motivate, prompt and focus us in the right direction. Do what it takes to keep God’s fresh word to you in your face—and thereby, you’ll be building your faith.

God’s all in when it comes to giving you every advantage possible. So, when He gives a word, heads-up or valuable piece of insider information—jump on it, act on it. Practice these 5 Steps To Gaining the Advantage God’s Way—and dare to trust Him to bring His Word to pass!
