Is it OK to take medicine?

If you have submitted your health or the treatment of a medical condition to a doctor, you should follow the doctor’s instructions, including using the medicine(s) prescribed.

Proverbs 4:20-22: “My son, give attention to my words; Incline your ear to my sayings. Do not let them depart from your eyes; Keep them in the midst of your heart; For they are life to those who find them, And health to all their flesh.”

Go to your Bible and find the scriptures that deal with healing and long life. Find scriptures about the part of your body or life that is under the attack of the enemy. Use God’s Word like medicine and see your health improve.

Begin to regularly declare those scriptures over yourself. And, with the boldness of the Lord, when others ask you about your situation, always respond with the word of the Lord—it is the final authority.

And as you stay in the Word of God, allow it to increase the joy in your heart and your trust in the Word. Proverbs 17:22 declares, “A merry heart does good, like medicine.”
