There is a reason we call the Gospel of Jesus Christ the Good News! That’s because the Bible tells us that when we are born again, we become new creations, our past is gone and our sins are washed away, making us white as snow (Luke 2:10; 2 Corinthians 5:17; 1 John 1:9; 1 John 1:7)

1 John 1:9 says, “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and cleanse us of all unrighteousness” (ESV). Remember, every person who has ever been born again has come to Jesus with sin that needed forgiving (Romans 3:23). That’s what makes it so special for each one of us.

What’s important now is that you don’t let the devil keep you focused on your past or feeling guilt or shame. He has no right to do that! Instead, do what Paul said, and throw off your past and look forward to the life you have ahead, which is a victorious one (Philippians 3:13-14). And strive to obey God in all things from this point on. It’s His formula for a life so good, it is beyond anything you could hope or imagine.
