What the Names of God Mean to You
God’s power is so vast, no one name could ever describe Him.
Everything about His nature is designed to meet every need and desire you could ever experience on the earth. When you learn who He is to you, you’ll gain greater confidence in going boldly to His throne with your needs, knowing that who He is has already met those needs.
Everything God has is available to you. Find out what the Names of God mean to you and how to receive everything He desires you to enjoy.
1. Elohim—The Sovereign Mighty Creator
The greatness, glory, power, and sovereignty of God is wrapped up in this powerful Name. He created the vast universe, everything in heaven and earth, and…you. There is no greater power in all the earth. And it is available to you.
2. Jehovah—The Unchangeable, Intimate God
There are so many things in life that are unpredictable and unreliable. Not God. He is unchanging. You can count on Him in any situation.
3. El Shaddai—The All-Sufficient One
Do you feel like your needs are a mile long? You have the God who is more than enough on your side. Bring Him into your journey.
4. Adonai—Lord and Master
There are so many benefits to making Jesus your Lord and Master. When He’s in control, you know things will work out for your good. He is a gracious and loving Master.
5. Jehovah Jireh—The Lord My Provider
There is no need that God cannot meet. His will is for you to live in abundance in every area of your life. If you are missing something in this life, it’s time to fully surrender to the Lord who provides.
6. Jehovah M’Kaddesh—The Lord My Sanctifier
God sanctifies you, cleanses you from evil, and separates you from sin. Avoid the traps of guilt and shame. Let the Lord, your Sanctifier, release you and deliver you.
7. Jehovah Nissi—The Lord My Banner of Victory
Found in Exodus 17:15, this Name for God is used to show you that He intends to give you the victory. His presence and power will bring you through any battle with victory. Never expect defeat in life—go to Jehovah Nissi. He is the Victory.
8. Jehovah Rapha—The Lord My Healer
God Himself is your Healer! No matter what your situation, He is Jehovah Rapha—your Healer. Don’t settle for sickness and disease when you have a Healer just waiting for you to receive.
9. Jehovah Rohi—The Lord My Shepherd
God will lead you on the path to righteousness and success. He will guide you to victory. All you have to do is follow Him.
10. Jehovah Tsidkenu—The Lord My Righteousness
Jeremiah 23:6 says by Him, and only by Him, we are called righteous.
11. Jehovah Shalom—The Lord My Peace and Wholeness
There is a peace that comes from being whole—whole in your spirit, soul and body. Whole in your family, your health and your finances. God wants you to experience peace in your life—wholeness in every area. Don’t settle for less.
12. Jehovah Shammah—God Is There
No matter what it feels like, God is always there with you. Lean on Him and trust Him.
13. El Elyon—Most High God
This name emphasizes God’s supremacy. Remember, no matter what you are facing, God is greater, and His power can cause you to go beyond your circumstances—if you put Him first place.
14. Jehovah Sabaoth—The Lord of Hosts
God is the Commander of heaven’s army—the angels! And He has sent them to be of service to you.
15. Jehovah Makkeh—The Lord Who Molds Me
The Lord wants to make you into your best self. Allow Him to correct you and guide you. You’ll reach heights you never knew possible.
16. Jehovah Gmolah—The Lord Who Rewards
He rewards those who diligently seek Him, and He also repays evil. The word also means “recompense”—He will repay injustices on our behalf.
Now that you know what the names of God mean to you, when you are faced with any situation, you can run to the Name above all names in confidence. He is everything, and has all things, and He has given you access to every part of His unending riches and power. You can count on it!
