10 Confessions To Activate the Resurrection Power of God In Your Life

When God created us, He made us in His image. As He is three in one—God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit—we also are three in one—spirits that live in bodies and have souls. Our spirits are the real us, and they actually keep our bodies alive. Proverbs 18:14 bears this out saying, “The spirit of a man will sustain him [his body] in his infirmity” (KJV).

Consequently, when our spirits leave our bodies, our bodies die. Dying is that easy. It makes sense, then, that God’s Word—which strengthens and gives life to our spirits—can in turn affect our bodies. Romans 8:11 says, “But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you” (KJV).

In this passage, the word mortal, according to Webster’s Dictionary, means “subject to death.” When the Apostle Paul wrote those words, he was not referring to the glorious bodies we will be receiving when Jesus returns. He was speaking of our current bodies, here and now. Add to that the word quicken, which, also according to Webster’s, in part means “to give or restore vigor or activity to; to stir up, to rouse, to stimulate, revive, restore to life.” Within these words we have God’s promise that He will “quicken our mortal flesh,” meaning He will enliven our bodies by the very resurrection power of the Holy Spirit who abides within our spirits.

God wants us to live out His promise to us—by faith. And the way we activate our faith is by speaking it each and every day—by speaking life!
