Did you know you are an heir to a vast fortune?

Many Christians don’t know about their inheritance in Christ. Some even believe God withholds from them. Others simply don’t realize that everything the Father has belongs to them—now.

When you read the Bible, you’re also reading “The Will.” When you study the Word, you’ll find out you are an heir to your Father’s vast fortune. You’ll learn how to see yourself as God sees you. Moreover, you will discover what is included in your inheritance, so you can take it by faith.

Galatians 4:7 says, “You are no longer a slave but a son, and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ” (NKJV).

If you’ve ever questioned whether you are entitled to all of God’s blessings, we’re setting the record straight today with these 3 Reasons Why You Are an Heir of God.

1. You Are an Heir of God Because You Are a Child of God

If you are a born-again believer in Christ Jesus, you are a child of God and an heir to all that belongs to the Father. Think about it. Children of the King have a right to partake of their inheritance. You have full access to the largest inheritance known to man!

Romans 8:17 says, “Now if we are children, then we are heirs—heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ, if indeed we share in his sufferings in order that we may also share in his glory”(NIV).

Gloria Copeland explains it so simply, but so powerfully, when she says, “When you were born again, Jesus moved in with everything He has. I became an heir to a fortune…when I gave my life to Jesus.”

What a precious promise and amazing truth. Everything in the Bible—every blessing, every benefit—belongs to us. But we have to take it!

2. You Are an Heir Because You Are Redeemed From the Curse

You could probably already guess, but sickness, disease, poverty, lack, depression and strife are all under the curse, which should be no surprise—they’re not good! However, God is good, and He set out to be sure we were delivered from every single part of that curse.

Christ Jesus. His only Son says He redeemed us from the curse by being made a curse for us so that THE BLESSING of Abraham would come on us and be made available to us.

Right about now, you might be thinking, but that’s not for everyone, is it? Only those God chooses to heal, deliver or bless with finances, right?

It’s as if God knew you would ask because just a few verses down, He answers you: “And if you belong to Christ [are in Him Who is Abraham’s Seed], then you are Abraham’s offspring and [spiritual] heirs according to the promise”. (

That’s it. It’s clear as crystal and outlined in “The Will”—you are an heir!

3. You Are an Heir Because You Are a Joint Heir With Jesus

If you’ve had trouble seeing yourself as a child of the Most High God, it’s time to get rid of the religious attitude that says you’re just a sinner saved by grace. It’s time to start seeing yourself, instead, as a joint heir with Jesus!

When you accepted Jesus as your Savior and Lord, you joined God’s family. You became one of His children, and you received the same rights and privileges that Jesus has. Romans 8:17,NKJV,refers to you as a joint heir with Jesus. What a powerful description! You are no longer a sinner saved by grace; you are a joint heir with Jesus, raised up to do the Father’s business. And you have work to do! Of course, you can’t even begin to be effective in what God has called you to do until you see yourself the way God sees you.

In Christ Jesus, we are heirs to the vast fortune of our loving heavenly Father—simply by being born again into THE Royal Family. So, fear not, little flock; for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom” (Luke 12:32,NKJV).

If these three reasons you are an heir of God don’t convince you, read them again! Don’t wait another moment. You were born into The Royal Family that owns and operates the universe. It is time to start acting like an heir of God!
