Question of the Day
When Kenneth and Gloria started their journey of faith they had questions too—lots of them! So, we've compiled the most frequently asked questions by people like you—people who earnestly desire to find God's answers to the practical, real-life challenges of everyday living. We have a new question every day, so check back often!
Don’t give up your confidence in the Word of God when the pressures of life come, and you will see victory. Of course, to be confident in the Word, you must spend time with it. Consistently staying in the Bible undergirds your faith and allows it to rise up within you to grasp God’s promises and never let go.
Think of your need for the Word—your spiritual food—like you react to your physical body’s need for physical food. Just as your physical body needs food to grow, your spirit needs the spiritual nourishment that comes by feeding on the Word. “Like newborn babies, you must crave pure spiritual milk so that you will grow into a full experience of salvation,” 1 Peter 2:2 urges. “Cry out for this nourishment.”
A child is not an expert the first time he tries to walk. He falls, gets up and tries again and again until he becomes good at it. The same is true spiritually. Just trying again and again will cause you to become skilled in walking by faith! So do not be discouraged or deterred from your faith.
We are listing four steps Kenneth E. Hagin taught which will ensure victory:
1. Make the decision: I will not be defeated; I will receive from God (1 John 5:4-5).
2. Resist Satan: Refuse to entertain his thoughts (2 Corinthians 10:3-5; James 4:7). As you begin to wonder in your mind, you will begin to wander from God’s best.
3. Give your attention to God’s Word (Proverbs 4:20-22): Fix your mind on God’s Word (Joshua 1:8).
4. Refuse to speak words contrary to what you believe you have received from the Lord (Mark 11:23-24): Answer every doubt immediately with the Word of God. Answer every symptom of sickness, unforgiveness, lack, strife, fear, etc., immediately with the Word of God.
As you are consistent in these steps, victory will become a regular part of your life, just as Jesus promised in John 14:21: “Those who accept my commandments and obey them are the ones who love me. And because they love me, my Father will love them. And I will love them and reveal myself to each of them.”
